Audio ducking
In the short time I had it, Production Assistant looked really impressive. But Vegasaur seems to do things so much more simply and slickly - and Pro 15 likes it - and it doesn't crash!

Just in case anyone else is looking at buying the Vegas Production Asst for Vegas Pro 15, Magix has a patch so that it will not be compatible. Can't comment on it though as I have uninstalled it and I'm trying out the Vegasaur which seems to work just fine for me. Margaret

Hi thanks for your replies. Cornico - the auto cropping instruction on the Preferences Editing menu did the trick for the whole project and worked for clips already on the timeline. Thanks also to vkmast because this works too. So grateful to all for quick replies. Margaret

Thanks for your message. I had ticked the "adjust source media.." button in Vegas and rendered to PAL DV widescreen but it didn't work. Didn't realise the dimensions of PAL DVD were different to 16:9. Is there a way to specify the actual crop dimensions of 16.39:9 in Vegas instead of following the presets in the crop window? Perhaps that would work. Thanks again

Timecode in files
Hi thanks to both for replying. I have checked the View/ACtive Take Information but the timecode doesn't show. I guess it's another problem with the Mov files Thanks though for replying. It helps to know Margaret

Yes I bought a new desktop with Windows 8 already installed on it. I'll try switching off GPU acceleration and see what that does. Thanks

Hi OldSmoke I have Windows 8-64bit Intel i7 CPU @ 2.10 GHz, 8gb memory, Nvdia GeForce GT640M Old computer went to my husband and I bought new one which came with Windows 8 but I'm beginning to hate it! Hope you can help

Sorry to come back again on this, but on reopening Vegas Pro later in the day, the video has gone back to staggering on preview. I have checked that what you suggested is still the same. Can't figure it out ... Any help again would be really appreciated

New 563 Build
I still have the problem of MOV files importing with an extended freezeframed video at the end of the clip but I can live with it for the moment. All the audio is there but I have to manually shorten each clip so that the video ends where the audio ends... But overall it feels quicker

Length of video and audio don't match on timeline
Still haven't figured out why this is happening and have asked Sony Tech Support. I am working round it by trimming the video and making it a subclip but it takes time to do that. If I convert the mov file to mp4 for in lightroom example, both audio and video match. But the whole point about using the mov file was to have a better quality. I will post sony's answer if I can manage to get a sample file to them through their support site. Thanks for your replies. Very much appreciated

I've tried all these ways, but the clips are no different. It's only in Vegas that it's a problem (with Movie Studio and Pro 12). Is it the MOV format that's causing the problem do you think?

All the audio is there. The trimming does the trick but why does the clip present itself on the timeline with that extra video bit? Is it because of the MOV format. If it is, I think I will go back to avchd. Also, is there an easy way to automatically trim all clips. Thanks Margaret

Mmmmn.. it doesn't work and I'm not sure why. I found the Slideshow .dll file and copied it to Pro 12. It didn't appear automatically under the Insert command so I had a look at the file in explore, right clicked and tried to open it with pro 12. The programme opened but an error message appeared saying Pro 12 does not recognise the file's format? Can anyone advise me further please Thanks Margaret
