That is the recycle bin on your j: drive. Something deleted them but you can double click the recycle bin and get them back.

OT: One more MIDI question...

That's why I eventually posted it. It took me awhile to compare features and realize 6 was actually 5. Obviously some kind of hoax. All the links have the same type of stuff. You can click on "deflate" and end up with V5 page. Also clicking on the drawing of Victor Borge gets you to the site responsible for it, I think.

Audio sample rates on DV tape
This is from my manual VCR set HiFi sound Stereo - to play back the stereo tape or dual sound track tape with main and sub sound. 12 bit (2 stereo sounds) 16 bit (1 stereo sound in high quality) Audio mode 12 bit mode - the original sound can be recorded in stereo 1 and the new sound in stereo 2 in 32 kHz. 16 bit mode - A new sound cannot be recorded but the original sound can be recorded in high quality. Moreover, it can also play back sound recorded in 32kHz, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. I have it set at 16 bit stereo and Vegas says it is 48kHz. It's clear as mud to me but maybe you can find something in it.

Capture VHS to DV
AVI absolutely for editing. You will see the time on the timeline and edit it down to the appropriate length for your DVD then render to mpeg2.

For your other question, you will be rendering to mpeg2 for your DVD which will be much smaller than the AVI you are capturing.

When you go into the Capture screen, click on the Video tab at the top. There you will see composite/tuner/s-video at the bottom. Select what applies. There you will also see the capture properties for various settings. TV tuner lets you change channels. Capture/capture lets you change resolution. The Audio tab lets you change inputs to match your device. Then click the Capture button

Follow up
see my answer to your other post and recapture at higher resolution. If you are getting dropped frames, defrag your hard drive and turn off any background programs like anti-virus etc.

Capture VHS to DV
If you are capturing in Vegas, the AIW defaults to 320x240. Go into the "video\capture\capture properties and change it to 720x480 or 640x480 and then capture.

OT: I got the Edirol PCR-80...
With softsynths there are lots of noise makers rather than instruments. Many are weird sounding organ sounds played through a machine gun. For orchestral try to research what sounds (insruments) you are getting in the package.
