OT: Vegas Video Forum User name change
My name is very complicated. My real name is Nicholas therefore my nick name is nick. But I also have the nickname nickle which also fits because my middle initial is "L". So nickname nick nickname nickle nickknack paddywack. Although some people think it means my Net Worth.

Stupid question (about borders!)
If you click the drop down preset it has squares circles, triangle etc. Is that good enough?

Did you do the "repair" reinstall? It only takes a couple of minutes and usually fixes the problem.

Move the cursor to the boundary area until it turns to 2 arrows up/down then left click and drag.

NOT OT (Hallelujah) :-) image importing methods in vegas
I just import and click the first image and check the import sequence and render without weirdness. Unless maybe the images were too big or something like that?

You can also do a reinstall and select "repair" and Vegas will fix it.

Vegas 5 doesn't respond
It's hard to know what to blame when you have all new components. (PC, Windows, Vegas) You'll have to try to work through it see the results. Like try another clip to see if it is repeatable. Nothing like a big monitor for Vegas!
Alot depends on the screen resolution that you are comfortable with as far as desktop space. I used to have a 17" crt and 15" both set for 1024x768. I had trouble reading anything on the 15" Now I have 21' and 17". The 21" is 1024x768 which gives me tons of room and easy to read. The 17" is set at 800x600 which makes it easy to read and makes the preview big and still leaves extra space. Now everything is perfect (for me) and I would hate to go to anything smaller.

Nothing like a big monitor for Vegas!
With all the requests for new features in Vegas, what I would really like is either a detachable vcr control or a duplicate on the preview window, or just on the preview window. That would make dual monitors perfect.

OT Sony Digital 8 mic input question
As an "aside" to this, I ended up downloading a manual for the 720 which also has refernces to the 820. While scanning through the pdf looking for references to audio/sound/mic etc. I came across the "printer". The 820 has a built-n printer to print photos directly from the camera. I was baffled.

OT Sony Digital 8 mic input question
I'm using Firefox. I just right-click the link abd save it to the hard drive. Opening a pdf in Firefox used to cause it to freeze, although that seems to be fixed now. I have the pdf on my hard drive and did a search for distorion but no results. I'll look again.

Favorite Vegas Features/Tricks?
I like the speed. If someone asks "how can I do this?" I can have it up and running try the effect work through the details and answer the question. (sometimes.) Then I have just learned something new and save the veg to remember it by.

Try this link for the manual http://members.rogers.com/mavican/MavicaManuals.html otherwise I'll try to look it up if no one answers. EDIT There's a volume control on the bottom left of your lcd but I don't know if it's for recording or playback. Do you have headphones?

How about this then? In photography a negative can only be enlarged a small amount before "graininess " degrades it. However a "slide" can be blown up a huge amount without degrading. Therefore I submit that only "slides" are true HD and when technology finally catches up with that fact, there will be true high definition. So this topic isn't closed and the Champage which isn't champagne unless it comes from France is still up for grabs.
