How can I shorten render time with just TINY edit to the Nen
I render the files (ex the menu) in VMS to BD m2ts file type. Dragged them into DVDA, created the menu. Prepared them to an ISO to burn later. I extracted the 00000.m2ts file from the ISO, and put it in DVDA. It looks like a pix, nothing to edit as far as labels go--So I have no idea how I could edit AND then I gotta get it back into the ISO--not sure that can be done. I think I wasted too much of your time. 13hrs is a long time to reneder when I just added 2 dashes--but the nights are still pretty long :) Thanks again David for your help,Ron

Thanks for the replies David- My Menu was made from the default menu in DVDA 7 and is just a static display--no sound or video. I just dragged the video file onto it. I just modified it, added buttons with names etc. It is the first file in the ISO. Using WinRAR I can I can double click 00000.m2ts and it shows the menu. I think I could also exchange it for an edited version--but I'm not sure if the links to the 13 files on the disk would be correct. The contents are unknown---nothing that makes sense. I should have checked the contents before I asked, because I have not idea what is what. I thought it would be in English--not some unknown code :)

It is part of the video---iow contained in the ISO as 00000.m2ts, is 640kb and has 13 buttons to navigate to the other files. It is not in a sub menu.

There used to be a sticky about issues/bugs we had with VMS14. I don't see it. I know 15 has not been out very long--but have those issues been corrected in the new version?

Poor rendered MP4 quality from source MP4 footage
It would be another step--but try using Handbrake to change the rate from variable to fixed before opening it in VMS.

Pressing "NEXT" on dvd player goes beyond scene and starts into next
You may have a solution by now--but I added a Marker about 1 second before the end. Pressing Next now goes to that marker and then plays the Scene for 1 sec--not even noticeable on my BD player since it takes 5 seconds or more to reloads the menu. hth, Ron

Steve--Tell me--How else could I change my file to return to the main menu by pressing Next?1 sec is virtually the end--it takes my BD Player 5 secs to return to the menu.

Problem with Markers made in VMS m2ts file then into DVDA iso.
The videos are the same song, performed by different bands. I wanted a way for a friend to listen and if they did not want to listen to the whole song--to hit Next and basically go back to the menu--not to the next song. I don't know of another way to go to the menu among different players.

VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Update (build 127 & build 148)
Thanks for the suggestion to brighten the Timecode window--I did not know I could change it. I also want to brighten the actual timecode on the bar above the tracks. It is much dimmer than any other text. It would be nice if it's brightness was controlled either separately or via the same right click as the Tc Window.

Well the problem is solved--exactly why I don't know. Now I can:In VMS I add markers to within 1sec from the end. I render using the above (the original) AVC, the Markers are carried to DVDA and can be moved from 2 sec to 1 sec with no problem. Thanks for the help--this is solved

Thanks set for the help--that appears to be my problem. I changed all the markers in VMS to 3 sec before the end. I will reduce the time and see what the minimum is and I'll post back. I do not see the marker in the .iso .m2ts files, nor are there any other files in the Stream folder. When I open the file in VMS there is no marker there. imho--VMS should also warn when a Marker is too close to the end--It does warn when you try to place a marker within 1 sec of another. The markers do not work. When I press Next on the remote--an on screen Pop-Up says "Operation not allowed". The Next Key works with commercial BD's. I completely redid the 4 files. I opened the original Handbraked mp4 files, edited them, add the single Marker about a second from the end, gave then each a unique name and Rendered them. I opened each .sfl file and verified the the Marker name was there--it was. After VMS rendered them, I drug them onto the default Menu screen of DVDA. I could see the flags and names in each file. After the DVDA Prepare, I extracted the .iso file and open 2 files in VMS (no marker) and opened it in Windows Media Player--the >>| (next) was greyed out. The individual files play fine, but the Next does not go to the end. TopMenu button will take me to the menu which I want to go to. Hopefully you can see something I am doing wrong. I really ap[appreciate you taking time to help me. If you want pix--I'll be happy to take screen shots and post them on Dropbox--I don't know how to post them here. BTW--I have pressed Cont/Shift and opened DVDA to reset everything to Default. Ron

I will keep this simple and just answer your questions. Not in the way I want them to. I have approx 4min videos and I want to place a Marker a second or so before the end--so that when a person presses the Next button on the remote it will play about a second and return to the Menu. Ron

In VMS when I place the marker--it has a flag & name up on the timeline--iow above the tracks. After the file is saved & looked at in VMS, the marker appears to be "embedded" in the video & audio track. It has the assigned name, but I can not delete, move or rename it. It has no flag and fully contained in the 2 tracks--not up high on the timeline. Once that same file is in DVDA the marker looks like the original marker when placed in VMS--iow High up on the timeline and it can be deleted, moved and renamed. The .iso file does not have the .sfl or .sfk file in any of the BDMV folders. So are you saying, without those files in BDMV/STREAM folder--there will be no Chapter Markers? This seems a VERY shortcoming of DVDA. As mentioned--it is supported in a DVD--not Blu-ray. Is there a setting or option I am not checking for this to happen? Ron

David--when I did the same thing, albeit with DVDA Properties set to a DVD vs Blu-ray, DVDA included the Marker at the same place I had on the Timeline with the Blu-ray try. When you say Vegas are you referring to Pro?

Steve thanks--I am using DVDA build 67, not Pro. Perhaps there is a difference here--I do not have a Import Scene Markers. In DVDA I see the marker, it's orange Scene/Chapter Marker flag above the timeline, and the name (end) I gave it. I deleted and right clicked the timeline and Insert Chapter Marker which has a grey flag. I labeled it and did a Make Blu-ray/Prepare. Same thing--no marker at the end. Perhaps I do not understand the minimum requirements for adding a Marker in DVDA:1. My individual music video files are each about 3-4 minutes long and each will be selected by a text Icon in a menu.2. I am placing the marker about a second or 2 from the end of the file. If I move to the 2 minute mark--if still does not show up.3. Maybe DVDA specs will not produce a Blu-ray .ios file with a Marker in a short file. Maybe DVDA is looking for a break on the timeline (ie a 2nd file added) to allow a Marker to be placed--using a short file. As mentioned the Marker is clearly visible on DVDA Timeline. I can slide it, rename it, etc. It's really there immediately before I Make Blu-ray/Prepare. I am not burning a disc at this time--just saving the .iso. I extract the iso using WinRAR and play the BDMV/Stream--m2ts file. Ron

Thanks Steve for the reply. Yes I have it checked. I do almost the same as your video--except in VMS I use the AVCHD for a BluRay vs a DVD, as mentioned above, to save it as a m2ts file. It is saved when I look at the preview screen in DVDA--BUT the Marker is NOT saved when I render it. In DVDA If I click Preview and play the video, and click Next on the "remote" it does in fact jump to the marker. The problem is in the DVDA render for a BluRay. Ron

How do I save my markers when saving a .mpg file for a DVD
Thanks Eric--I see it now. If it only worked with files made using V11 I'd be happy. I had to redo all the markers in V14 and it worked.

Movie Studio Platinum and DVD Architect?
In my email from Magix there are 4 links to d/l: MVMS Plat, VDVDA, and 2 others , NewBlue VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum Complete AND Music Maker---along with the serial numbers for the 4. I bought the V13 with a free upgrade a month ago. I've been on the road and my laptop is full--no room to install those big programs. Sony allowed 2 installs as long only 1 was run at the same time--not Magix they allow only 1 install, so I can't even install it to try it out!

Audio not in sync with video
I'm late to the party--but I'll offer my 2 cents. I would experiment with a 5 minute file, since your lipsync issue occurs before 5 min. I would use Handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/ VERY easy and simple to use btw) and convert your original file to an MP4, and change the bit & frame rates to something universal. If you are going to burn a BluRay, I would recommend you convert the original to 720P x 60 (or 50) which will allow you to burn at a higher frame rate. I doubt you would find a difference in a video bit rate of 25mb/s and 15 to 18mb/s--so use the lower one and save time and files size. There is a thread of mine a bit further down--- created 1/24/17 discussing my problems with, and MY solution to HDMI captured video from my DVR. Maybe it might help--my problem was video and not lipsyncing. David offered some advice and using Handbrake allowed me to fix the judder or stutter or whatever it's called today :) hth

David--Yes I understand 30p is NOT a BD standard--and I'm just saying--I can only capture at 720 60P or 1080 29.97P. So when I use 1080--DVDAS ONLY lets me use 24 (or 23.976) Progressive. I think most of the judder comes from converting the 29.97p to 24p, therefore if I use 720 60p--there is no frame rate conversion and the movement of filming the cliff side from the helicopter is very smooth, like the original---and not like 1080 24P.
