Nvidia Driver issue
I was working on a 3 camera shoot using multi cam edit functions and having them all in the preview window was great when it ran at full speed, but eventually it would crash, then keep crashing in V14. In desperation I'd go back and use it in V12... Updating drivers seemed to be a culprit and I ended up using 'system restore' to try and back my way out...I believe at this point it has something to do with the drivers not working well with V12 (and sort of in V14) for us it seems. Without GPU I was down to less than 10 fps which is just not workable...not to mention no fun~

Nvidia Driver issue
Reluctantly I downloaded and installed the most recent driver build available (378.49) for my ageing GTX 560ti. It went fine and everything appears to work, except VP12. All preview modes now show a black display, so I have to now disable the GPU video acceleration in preferences to get any playback display function. I've got a GTX560 and the newer drivers made a total mess of my preview window. I rolled back to driver 344.65 to try and restore order. I can now use GPU again with V14 >>> but V12 is still showing a completely scrambled preview which was not happening before I updated the driver, then rolled it back. I've installed 3 different V12 builds and none makes the preview with GPU work anymore..... not happy...guess I'm also not alone.Service request from Dec 18th ...response from Matrix Jan 20th with no real solution just a recommendation to make sure I'm the 'Administrator' .... rather irrelevant since I already am...and other versions of Vegas don't have this problem....

Nvidia Driver version 378.49 date 01/23 breaks video preview in vegas
I have an Nvidia GeForce560 with 344.65 drivers. I've had a lot of problems with multi cam editing and crashing using V14. In the process of trying to troubleshoot I've installed and uninstalled driver updates that made a total mess of my video preview. With this current combo I can now more or less edit in V14 but now my V12 will no longer work with GPU on! I get a completely scrambled preview window with V12..which goes back to normal if I turn GPU off. Meanwhile, the preview window in V14 is now working with GPU on.....why?I uninstalled V12 three times now, reinstalling various versions hoping to get a functional V12 again...but no change. It used to work just fine with GPU on...but no more.Any idea what I could try to make the preview work in V12 with GPU on?

No GPU option available in VP13 or VP14 Trial
I have an Nvidia GTX560 card that now no longer shows anything but a black screen in video preview window with the GPU turned on.... its half worked for weeks and now gone completely. I've updated drivers and uninstalled drivers...system restore...and still not working. Don't know what to try next..... Both my V12 and V14 are affected....no video preview at all with GPU turned on and all the latest drivers....

How to send error reports using the Problem Reporting Service (PRS)
HI Nick, I've tried most of that check list...and I can edit for a while then I get the crashing... The error report window comes up and I 'send' along with a brief explanation...and the situation just seems to deteriorate till I can't do anything. Its the fact that I have been able to multi-cam edit at full speed then it starts acting up that is so frustrating. There's a bottleneck somewhere and I'm clueless...and no response from tech support.

I've been struggling with V14 to do a 3 cam Multi Cam Edit. Some times I can actually work for an hour before the crashing begins and no matter how many times I save after every couple of cuts its all lost on the autosave version... A total waste of my time and super frustrating. Constant rebooting isn't helping, upgraded video card drivers, rolled back some Windows Updates....trying to get functional... Hate this...and, no matter how many 'error reports' get sent no response .....Clearly I'm not alone....Just installed build 211 and couldn't even get 5 minute into it without a total crash, yet again....

Undo multi-camera editing
Wish list..Please make it possible to 'undo' those muted clips (make them active) .... if you want to go back and make some adjustments in the 'expanded track' mode. Having to re-copy an entire project to re-do is not fun...

i thought 14 was win 10 tested, not 7? I'm not sure what you mean but I'm clinging to my W7 !Can't stand the W10 interface and am still working my way into that with a new laptop...ick~

New crashing using V14 Multi cam editing
I posted what I've tried at your link above.... should have been posted that back here!I deleted some of the temp files in several locations via your instructions which were much appreciated, and then went on to experiment with turning the GPU off and for a while that seemed to work, although trying to multi cam edit was impossible...down to about 3-4 fps from full speed. Then I went back and forth turning it off and back on in both V14 and V12. For a while V12 looked like it would work, then I started to get only completely blocky chunks in the video preview that had nothing to do with my video images. Going into meltdown mode each time I open either version of V, as the preview window was now completely unusable. I tried to download new drivers for my Nvidia but that wouldn't download so moved on to a System Restore....Need to experiment some more, but I got V14 to open and seemed to be back to 'normal'...oh, I sure hope so! Between my restore point and today I had installed a bunch of Windows 7 updates...and who knows what went sour but I'll keep experimenting and hoping I've gotten my stability and performance back in service.

(Tips) Clean up of Vegas Temp files
I went into Vegas options/Prop/temp files.... only 7 items there...but I've been directing my current project to put temps in a main project folder > with all media and Vegas project/files (33 individual Vs related to the overall video shoot) . That main folder has about 70 sfk files - 40 sfl files - 35 BAK files.... I had been adding FX to each project as I went along.... "In Windows Explorer, go to that directory, DELETE EVERYTHING, all files and all directories under there." I don't know how to do that.... I use C Cleaner to clear out stuff ...does that do it ? "if exist "C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\14.0\" I got as far as C:/username/... and don't see any "AppData"..... so don't know how to do that... I just turned off GPU acceleration.... will experiment this evening. Thanks so much, eileen

New crashing using V14 Multi cam editing
I've been working with 2 HDV Sonys and an AVCHD Canon.... property settings for the HDV footage. I've had no problems for hours on end editing...then late last night it started to slow down and then the crashing started. Rebooted, etc. ran CCleaner, rebooted...tried again today and consistant crashing just a few cuts into Multi cam editing. Watching task mgr. it spikes CPU but Memory use is way down....not hot...but something seems to have started choking V14 while I can do all the same MC editing on the same footage in V12 so far.....

How to use Preset Mgr to move FX from V14 to V12 ?
It does. That's a welcome surprise. I guess VP14 is still storing the presets in a Sony-branded registry location that Preset Manager looks at (would tell you what it is but registry search is hanging for me right now). But actually, if VP14 and VP12 are on the same computer, FX presets and FX Chains created in VP14 show up automatically in VP12, at least on my system. Is that not happening for you teakart? Preset Manager is still useful for moving from one computer or installation to another, but here I'm only seeing FX Chains in it. Is there a way to copy individual FX Presets from one computer to another? Anyway here's a direct link to Sony Preset Manager 2.0k: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/link?id=2928.0 To use it, click on FX Chains (lower left), select the chains you want to move, click the "copy to file" button at the top, then Save As something.sfpreset. Then you can open that preset package on the new installation and copy it to the system. How to use Preset Mgr to move FX from V14 to V12 ?
I've been messing around for hours trying to figure out how to copy FX from V14 to V12. Where I'm gettng stuck is how to 'open' (get my custom CC FX per camera) into the Preset Package (top left corner)... I 'save' the FX in the Plug-in Chain choser, but don't see where to save to - so I can "open" I do see what I've tested with showing up now in the "System Presets" LL corner...and the individual PS to the right. I'm not sure how they got there though! Also, like you mentioned, I only want one plug-in FX for the most part (CC) and not a whole chain if there were a simpler method to do so. I've missed it.Also, when looking thru my C:/ program folders/ ...directory for the elusive Preset Mgr folder I'm finding my older Vegas's in a Sony folder C:/ and my V14 in a 'Vegas" folder....and I couldnt' find the preset folder at all. If I can make them talk with each other that's all I need! Meanwhile, my V14 is completely locking up on me doing multi cam edit....after working fine for days.... hence the desperation to continue in V12 best I can with my project..... feeling challenged in all directions lately!

Red X and FX watermark on my video using V12 with Color Fixer Pro FX
Thank you so much for the link to the download !!! I also managed to find the email with all the serial numbers I got with the V14 upgrade. I didn't realize NB needed its own, but this time the serial number enabled my NBFX. Hopefully, I'm good to go now !

Red X and FX watermark on my video using V12 with Color Fixer Pro FX
Yes, I installed New Blue with V14 which I wasn't able to use with my HDV footage till the latest update. My project was in V12 and that's where I first had the red X and grayFX watermarks show up.I just opened a project in V14 and opened 'color fixer pro' FX and the red X and gray FXwatermarks are there. When I hit the 'activate' the fx button I get a New Blue FX App Mgr window wanting me to purchase or submit my serial number which I can't do as it doesn't work... It says VegasPro Complete version 3.0/160824 "not activated" even though support from NB says they have now 'activated' my account. When I try to disable the 'trial mode' it makes no difference as it still doesn't accept my serial numbers copied right off my Vegas /Help/About page.

That sounds like an excellent way to go... lets hope the crashing can be replicated by them and fixed....I plan to keep my tape cams as they work real well and I have a stash of tapes!

Thank you so much for the link to the newest build....I had high hopes....Here is what happened:I just did a clean install of build 189 and zero improvement. Tried to open a V12 .veg project and computer totally froze up...along with no 'cancel' button or 'opening project' % along the bottom left corner. Only way to kill it is via Task Mgr. Next, I tried to open a previous project via "File" menu....totally froze up and could not 'cancel' .Tried dragging HDV files and it got to 13% and froze up hard once again.I'm so disappointed I can not use this V14 at all ......

Yes, that is what HDVSplit said to do...download ffdshow but there were zillions of codecs and I had no idea what to chose..the messege just said mp3 audio ....so I think I allowed all and still no resolution next time I tried to capture - couldn't do it. Weird thing is it used to work just fine.... I had hoped that reinstalling the HDVSplit would include whatever mp3 audio codec was missing- but apparently not. I'll try to set up the situation again and see if I can get the exact error mssg again. I had a devil of a time trying to capture my tape footage going back and forth between VidCap and HDV Split as neither wanted to work for a while...so it was back to V12 Thanks!

Drag 'n Drop From Windows Explorer Not Working in 14
I first tried using HDVSplit to capture and ran into some kind of error problem...it saw my camera - would activate the tape moving, but no data was captured. The message said something to the effect of...I'm missing an mp3 audio codec or something. It used to work just fine. I un and re-installed HDVSplit, did the same with my V12 and the V12 was able to capture my footage while the Split still gave me the vague error I couldn't seem to fix. I have tried dragging my XA20 footage and its fast and quick to the timeline on V14 - just like it should be. Its those HDV clips that create the havoc and freeze up my CPU. Yesterday, the 'cancel' button was not appearing on the bottom left side where it should be....and the % line next to it is missing as well when I try to add an HDV clip and it stalls/freezes up completely. Monitoring my CPU its not very demanding on resources...so I doubt my computer is the problem. I did uninstall the first version of V14 and the other day installed build 178....zero improvement with my problems....just can't use V14 at all if I can't load any clips or projects...

I'm trying to load a project and after 5 min. of trying to load I'm stuck at 20% and "Not Responding" so I can't cancel or do anything else. Completely locked up....frozen.Pretty useless if its impossible to even open a previous project, let alone load new clips.... dang~

Ok, good to know I'm not mentally deficient in this one ! Actually, I looked for the 'cancel' button and it was not there...I could find no way to stop the agonizingly slow process except to kill it with 'task manager'. Also, I never saw the audio being rendered either.... if I wait long enough it might just load is what I'm learning. But I do mean 10+ minutes for a clip to load while V12 is almost instant. Thanks so much for your help!

Drag 'n Drop From Windows Explorer Not Working in 14
Arrrr....just tried to open V14 and it wants to load my last project automatically (I forgot to check that off...) and it looks like it will take at least 10 min to load if at all. This is absurd...How would I rerender my original HDV clips? Haven't done that before.... this should not be necessary and depends on having an earlier version of Vegas to get anything done. I pity the person buying V14 for the first time using Vegas if this basic function isn't working....Make that 15 min at this rate...still trying to open a project that was already on the timeline with a mix of HDV and AVCHD clips. I tried setting my properties to match the HDV clips in the hope that might speed things up but I'm not so sure. Guess I'm not alone on this.... Thanks for you help!
