Looking for alternative to GSpot codec analyzer

Rich Parry schrieb am 01.11.2010 um 23:19 Uhr
I thought I saw a post here about a video codec analyzer tool similar to GSpot. I love GSpot and have used it for years, great tool and it is free. But thought I would see if there are other tools that may be as good or better. It doesn't have to be free. I have no particular need, just want to look at similar tools.

thanks in advance,
Rich

I've been using MediaInfo. I believe musicvid suggested it in a previous post. I like it better than GSpot.

Agreed. I've recently started using Mediainfo and find it a superior tool.

Yes, that was it, MediaInfo, I couldn't remember the name and had no luck with searches. Thanks again.

Yes, as a quick and accurate report of media file properties, MediaInfo wins. For more detailed information, including GOP structure, I keep GSpot on my machine and use it from time to time. I will note that GSpot does not provide detailed information for all media formats.
