Options other than Cineform for DI's

The codec allows customization to produce files with different bit rates. I'm uncertain of the implications, other than the obvious that more bits could potentially produce more accurate results.

I have no idea what changing those settings actually does, so my inclination would be to use standard settings. For an intermediate, I've been using XAVC S. One nice thing about XAVC is that there is no problem playing these files on your PC with media players such as MP-HC or VLC. I can also stream them to my Sony Bluray player for preview on a TV. For the same file, the bit rate drops to 62 Mbps, still more than double the bit rate of the original file, but certainly less than using Canopus, Cineform, or others.



You could go lossless, but the bit rates are much higher, 893Mbps for Magic-YUV and a whopping 1050 Mbps for UT-video--clearly, NOT for archiving.

well, you are using 60p. i'm 24p. lower framerate reduce the filesize at same quality considerably ;)
