I've played rock and roll since my teens (fifty years by my count), and it hasn't killed me yet, just made me deaf. But remember, all that other stuff can make you go blind!

That's me on the drums ca. 1964.

Great pic! Are those Mosrites your guitarists are playing? Covering any Ventures tunes?

100% Fender guitars and amps (a Tele and Strat iirc), and a Shure Vocalmaster with a single 55 mic (that would shock the sh*t out of you!). My little drum set was Ludwig/Zildjian.

Ventures? Yes, I was the only kid in the county who could play Wipeout.

Me, after the gig in December, 1964. I had been on the road for about a week.

1964

@atom12

While working with this group in 1967...
Sandy Knox
we met Joe and Rose Lee Maphis

... and they decided to provide Mosrite instruments to the group as was fairly common in the day. It wasn't long before the guitar player fell off the wagon, though, and began playing a Telecaster again.

Of all the publicity shots we ever did, this was my absolute least favorite, but it is the only one showing the Mosrite guitars. All the rest were shot in studios, but this one was shot by Sandy's step-father in somebody's back yard. He fancied himself a very serious amatuer photographer who wanted to get some color into the 8x10 publicity photos.

Now, Im old!
