I just upgraded to Vegas Pro v19 and activated Boris FX Primatte Studio, but it says that it expires in 90 days. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Are you 365 subscriber, and renewing (instead of buying a new one)? If so, then Boris FX Primatte Studio is not included, says customer support 😡

According to their website, Primatte is included with Pro and no mention of subscription to have it or 90 usage period.

That's it.... it says everything in Edit in addition Stream and Primatte Studio for the Pro version.

@Photo_G I bought the full Continuum so have no real need for Primatte since I already have it. But I am interested in Stream. Otherwise, Edit is fine for me.

No matter what the website tells, It seems not to be included in subscription renewals. I'm dissapointed - but somehow not so surprised, as Vegas has a history of misleading marketing.

I guess we'll see what support says this time... 😟 I went with Pro specifically for this feature, even though it meant uninstalling my 2020.5 BCC Title Studio version..

It has now been a week since VP19 has been released and I have still not received the email with the serial key for the 2 for 1 deal. I have sent complaint's via their support system asking "where are my serials to activate". I get the automated reply with a ticket number, but nothing happens. In most countries failure to supply as advertised is called FRAUD. I will never ever trust Magix again. My next option is to make a written complaint to the German authorities.

I upgraded to VP 19 Post and my indication was going to be active 90 days as well.?

I saw some stuff about nested timelines. I have a little short film, and I have a trailer, is there a way for me to now be able to have a sub-timeline for my trailer in the same project as my film to keep everything together in one project? Or am I still using two separate files for that (or rendering loop region)?

Also big oof - can't seem to render a video. First try crashed at 4% and second at 15%.

Yes, you can import .veg projects just like regular video files, and you can also select any group of items on the timeline and combine those into a separate timeline that is inserted into the parent timeline as a video event. It can take a bit of a performance hit when editing this way, but it is still super-handy for complex projects.

As for the crashing, go to the vegas help menu, use the driver update utility. Does it recommend a new one? If so, install that and try again.

This is a MAJOR miss in my opinion. There is no indication anywhere that Primatte Studio is essentially a trial version. I'm still waiting to hear from support about it. Is anyone from Magix monitoring this thread?

That's tremendously handy. Good feature. Maybe I'll wait until I get my new PC at Christmas to try it tho, I'm having a hard enough time opening a complex project on this little i5.

There's a new Nvidia driver available and I was using the Nvidia HEVC codec. Looks like you may have guessed it.

I bought the full upgrade package, i.e., no subscription.

I'm seeing the same thing. I queried Boris FX to see what this means? Could it be a problem on their end?

SO my new VP19 Pro can be installed on my PC and on my Laptop. Nice and very useful. But not Primatte Studio which was the main reason for upgrading from Edit to Pro. Primatte will only run on one device. I wish I had known that going in .. Would I have to pay like $299 to get a second license for Primatte Studio?

@xberk There was another recent comment on this. Apparently Boris FX can only be used on one PC despite the fact that Vegas (other than subscription) can be used on two. It would be advisable for Vegas to make this known on their product webpage.

Is there any way of seeing a thumbnail of the veg project file as a visual reminder of what the project is about?

I am VERY glad to hear this comment of the latest version of Vegas still working on two machines. This ability has helped me greatly with previous versions of Vegas when determining if a given issue is really a software bug or hardware issues via running on two different systems. Will have to give this new version a try.

@xberk Boris has always been a "one machine, one license" plugin. You can activate/deactive it to switch, but it is a pain.

@EricLNZ you are right, there should be a notation that Boris can only be licensed for use on one machine. Heck, a little "*" next to it would be fine.

As for others with Primatte being 3months of trial, I'd head to the BorisFX User Forum and ask them directly what is going on.

As I've stated, I have the full Continuum and would not need Primatte, but thought I would give it to a friend. But not if it's only for 3 months.
