RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
@Jimbo Your clip/s are already on the timeline, what i suggested was just to select the ones on the timeline using the Project Media window. The clips on the timeline will highlight (click G on the keyboard if you want to group them) then drag them

RE: Vegas Pro 22 does not get along with Sound Forge Pro 18
3. You can (temporary) lock all events on the video track(s), for being accidentally modified. @3POINT Thanks. I had thought of doing this, but the tool tip for the lock icon only mentions it prevents the events from being moved on the timeline, so

RE: how to use z-depth 3d render pass for depth of filed blur in vegas 23
The Z- Depth effect doesn't currently support the use of user-supplied depth maps, it generates its own, and sometimes doesn't do the best job of it. If you can play with the settings and get a result you like, try making 2 copies of your video,

RE: Slow UI response when opening windows (Track Motion, FX, panels)
Yes, VEGAS Pro is installed on the C: drive where the OS is installed. However, the temporary files and working media are located on a separate NVMe SSD that is actually faster than the system drive. I normally keep the OS and applications on C:,

RE: BUG? Manually setting Audio-BUS Volume only changes LEFT channel
That bug was apparently fixed in b356... if that's the base of the coming build it should already be fixed. I've done a number of large projects from start to finish with b356 and the audio mixdowns render and play fine. Never noticed it in b302

RE: Multiple Viewing Screens Option in Vegas Pro?
@Carl-Weingarten I do something like that to achieve optical multicam alignment which needs to display & play multiple cameras shooting a digital slate at the same time. Don't use multiple displays myself but it works like a charm with the

RE: Subject: Vegas Pro 23 - Persistent Thumbnail Cache Purging
Hi @Howard-Vigorita I followed the advice to perform a full VEGAS reset on startup (Ctrl+Shift), including clearing the application cache, and manually re-entered all my settings instead of importing a .vegprefs file. Unfortunately, it didn't change

ACID PRO 11: All samples are gone?
Where are all the loops and files that are supposed to come with the software?? I installed it once and the first time they were there. I even edited a track and all. But I had to reinstall and moved some files.. now the software is bare bones.

RE: Pro 22 has stopped being able to handle my HEVC video files...suddenly
Hi, is 422 a problem with the RTX 50XX? @Gid Correct, such files don't even load in VEGAS without turning the hardware decoder off. Really hope support for 10-bit 422 gets here sooner rather than later as a 5070 owner! If you scroll up I put up

RE: Highlighting text
Sorry to necro a 10 year old thread, but I this kept coming up on my searches with this exact same problem and I was really frustated by the apparent lack of a solution. Anyway, I found another way that's pretty simple. - put video/image content on

RE: Subject: Vegas Pro 23 - Persistent Thumbnail Cache Purging
@Howard-Vigorita Turning off timeline thumbnails is simply not an option for my workflow. I am currently editing a music video with a massive amount of different scenes and sets. My process involves pre-cutting every usable take or 'good frame' and

RE: Workaround for NVENC Render Issues in VEGAS Pro 22 & Older
the audio is out of sync by about 5 frames Five frames with what framerate? One way to fix it might be to render just the audio to a wav file. Then use the wav file on your timeline, muting the other original audio tracks. Then move the audio by

RE: how to use z-depth 3d render pass for depth of filed blur in vegas 23
I'm not sure of a built-in way to control blur with another black and white depth map image, the best approach I can think of is to set the track with the depth mask on it to the Multiply composite mode. Make 2 copies of your video, one with a blur

RE: How can i use compositing mode while i am using 3d motion?
@iEmby When you use the Composite blend modes it's reading the track below. The composite/blend options are maths composite, that is the colour value of one pixel is added, subtracted, multiplied etc from the colour value of the pixel

RE: Subject: Vegas Pro 23 - Persistent Thumbnail Cache Purging
@Keky Sounds like you do allot of run-and-gun which I don't. I devote a project to each day, venue, and edit-step. I only turn cameras off during intermissions, am able to get rid of all the frames I don't want selecting cameras in multicam edit,

RE: 3D stereoscopic movies
to convert to 2D, you could set your project settings to a 2D format, like 1920x1080, and then just pan the image using track motion or pan/crop so that only one of the 2 sides of the image fills the frame. VEGAS stopped supporting 3D because it was

RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
Fabulous! I didn't realize that cntrl clicking on the thumbnails in the main timeline also selects them on the timeline, which is the only place where you can create a group. You just saved me a lot of time, and now I can color correct a whole track

Slow UI response when opening windows (Track Motion, FX, panels)
Hello, I have noticed that the user interface in VEGAS Pro sometimes feels slow when opening certain windows. I don't mean playback performance or rendering, but specifically the UI response when opening panels. For example: Track Motion

RE: Can we use Adjustment Events as Nodes like we use in Davinci Resolve?
1. I used to do all my color grading in Resolve, bringing an exported lut back to Vegas to continue. Until Vegas added cgp which is very similar. Only feature I miss are color-chart masks. But a simple Vegas mask works well enough.2. I do layered

RE: Slow UI response when opening windows (Track Motion, FX, panels)
Yes, that’s very similar to what I experience as well. It’s not something that really prevents working normally, and like you I’ve mostly just accepted it as part of how VEGAS behaves. Playback and rendering are very fast on my system, so it’s

RE: BUG? Manually setting Audio-BUS Volume only changes LEFT channel
I just checked vp22 b250 and there's no bug there either. But I can guess why you think there is. It's because the master bus below the tracks has separate sliders for left and right and you're probably only seeing one of them because the bus height

RE: Is Vegas 23 any good for color grading?
Yes, I think Vegas can do a good job with color grading. Set the preview to best/full and turn off the setting to automatically adjust preview quality. Use the scopes (waveform, RGB parade) to guide what you are doing and fill out the data range
