RE: Are there any pro editors still using Vegas?
I also do not see the point that Vegas should stop working - WHY should that happen? I mean, with some formats we have the issue that we have to transcode also today. For example with UHD ProRes from my Shogun- where I use TMPGenc to transcode the

RE: After reinstall of VP13, GPU renders at 40% only
I figured I'd just reinstall the whole OS. I was getting strange lockups even is registry editor when I'd do a search, and it would crash. So I reinstalled a fresh Win 10 64bit, all drivers from motherboard site and updated to latest nVidia

Does the device work with the Blackmagic Media capture application, or playback with that application? I would make sure you can use the device with the BMD software before giving up. In my experience BMD devices are pretty low tech and require

RE: BM Decklink Mini Monitor (device unavailable)
If I'm reading the specs for the Decklink Mini Monitor correctly, Vegas Pro is not in the list of supported software: Supported Software: Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe After Effects, Nuke - The Foundry, DaVinci

RE: New MOTU 896 USB Hybrid - no play
What JonnyRoy suggests is good information, that also holds true for devices like Blackmagic hardware. The manufacturers create a device that works, and then start selling as fast as possible. Things like auto format selection and troubleshooting

RE: How to: duplicate Star Wars light saber?
Thanks. To clarify, I do not want to to generate a light saber in motion. Rather I have a 2 d light line source that I want to add the 'sparks' to the edge of the light via a particle system. I guess I could try Blackmagic Fusion, just did not want

RE: Vegas vs. Catalyst review
Wow, interest in Sony Catalyst is suddenly spiking since last week. There's more "reviews" coming out lately. Here's one from Creative Planet and one from B&H. They're not really what I consider full reviews, because they don't seem to

RE: Render time AVI vs ??
Why shoot in it? There would be times when I'd want to have a HD version for uploading to the web. But even times when the only need is DVD, I could set the camera to output to SD but I'm not sure about the BlackMagic Production Studio and the

Render time AVI vs ??
I do a lot of stage event video work where I have to produce DVD's on-site. Render time is critical in order for me to keep up with the schedule of 20 minute shows back to back to back all day long. Currently my standard def system creates an AVI

RE: Is Canon C100 MKII a good choice?
Indeed Martin, From the looks of it it's quite an high-end scratchable thing not designed for rough ENG use. Which most Sony's and Canon's are. I probably would only use this for high-end feature stuff. Are you sure about the XLR input being one?

RE: problematic green screen with XAVC-S
Give Fusion from Blackmagic Design a try. It has a learning curve but the chroma keyer in it is far better than the one in Vegas. Did I mention that it's free :) p.s. an unaltered image (i.e. sitting in front of the green screen) would be best for

You could also use Blackmagic Fusion to track a bezier mask and then export the mask to Vegas where you could do the rest of the work.

Yep. You were right, I was using Resolve 11, and updated to Resolve 12 and the files XDCAM files load into Vegas fine. HDCAM is still different in media info, but apparently it was a Black Magic issue with there format in 11. The HDCAM formats
