RE: Smart Phone that takes Good Video?
@ Peter Duke "I will therefore rephrase my question, since I genuinely wish to know. Do any of the cameras which have the shape traditionally used to take still photographs incorporate stabilizers when taking movies?" As said, with optical

RE: SOT - How to stream live from a camera?
I think your simplest way to stream live would to look at LiveStreams red box device. This simple device does all the streaming for you, and all you have to do is plug in your video and sound. The downside is that you have to have a paid

RE: How is this done?
You could also use Blackmagic Fusion to track a bezier mask and then export the mask to Vegas where you could do the rest of the work.

No Sony Vegas Pro 14 announcements as so far we know it... But instead, we heard about: Sony PXW-FS5 http://nofilmschool.com/2015/09/sony-pxw-fs5-4k-cinema-camera-e-mount-electronic-variable-nd Sony

RE: Camera to Resolve, and Resolve to Vegas
Yep. You were right, I was using Resolve 11, and updated to Resolve 12 and the files XDCAM files load into Vegas fine. HDCAM is still different in media info, but apparently it was a Black Magic issue with there format in 11. The HDCAM formats

Video track effects have failed
It has been a long, long time since I have had to ask a question on the forum. So, greetings to you all. Over the years, I have used a succession of Vegas versions with never a hiccup, until now. This one has me stumped. Perhaps it's age. Vegas 13

RE: Please Help Quicktime not working in Vegas12+Win10
I'm outputting MP4 from Davinci Resolve but really is not a codec that I work with. Still, I was surprised that Vegas is rejecting it. Just a few days ago I was working with these codecs in Vegas12 under win8.1 without issues. I have only upgraded

RE: sot: intensity pro
You merely need to research two places - this forum for compatibility - search term intensity pro - or the BlackMagic Design forums. The features are highly dependent on what hardware you have and what you are trying to do. It is the way it is -

RE: OT: Adobe Cloud and support
All the Adobe Cloud mouthpieces rant and rave on how great it is. Then I read this and it only confirms what I said to Adobe back when I was part of a focus group when they began exploring a subscription based only model. No thank you.

RE: intensity pro?
I used an intensity shuttle with the trial versions of the catalyst software. Worked fine. I regularly use the shuttle with Vegas 13 - again, no problems. Used to crash frequently with older versions. Hope that helps. FYI, Intensity shuttle uses

RE: ProRes in Vegas Pro 13 - Ready to try anything.
"Bottom line, Sony Vegas should be able to play back ProRes.... " Your ProRes problem may be with your specific ProRes files. I have played some ProRes files in Vegas. Some BlackMagic 4K and some ProRes that I rendered myself from Vegas via

RE: Power Supply
I also agree with Steve Mann. Having a good quality, high power PS does not cost a great deal more, but gives you room to move. Having an 800W PS does not mean it is going to use that amount, but if the PC uses 400W, then the power supply is only

RE: Seeking opinions on Davinci Resolve and Fusion
I don't use or have a need for Fusion, so I can't comment, but I use Resolve all the time for colour correction. There is a rudimentary editor in the current version of Resolve, but not a great deal of use to me, so I still use Vegas. Blackmagic

Seeking opinions on Davinci Resolve and Fusion
By now I'm sure there are several here who are using Davinci Resolve and/or Fusion on a regular basis. Before I invest my time in installing, learning and working with these applications, I am interested in hearing what user here think of them. As I

RE: Hitfilm 3 vs. Boris CC/ Red
You might also want to look at Blackmagic Fusion. It's pro software that has recently has been made free. And I mean free. Be advised though, it's node based programming so takes a little getting used to. I also have Hitfilm 2 Ultimate, but

RE: If not Vegas for 4k then what?
I doubt you will be able to edit 4k for free with blackmagic. BM has always done the carrot software thing, and put the real functionality behind a paid license. If you can not edit 4k in vegas, my guess the problem is the end user, and not

Maybe Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve 12 free version (when it's released) might be an alternative for those who are having difficulties with 4k in VP?

RE: NAB: Catalyst Edit to replace Vegas Pro?
I know that Vegas has a wealth of small, but valuable features and it is almost certain that Resolve will not have a lot of them now, but if it continues to develop at the rate it has so far, it won't be long before those features are in place.

RE: NAB: Catalyst Edit to replace Vegas Pro?
I would be more inclined to keep an eye on Da Vinci Resolve in the future, as it may leave all the other NLEs in its dust. Apparently, Blackmagic have centred the development of Resolve in Singapore and have over a 100 people working on it. And
