FLV encoding from Vegas
Hello all I am working on a way to encode MX (older FLV) or VP6 FLV from Vegas. As it has some involved steps using FFMPEG, AviSynth, AVS2AVI, On2 encoder and DebugMode Frameserver, I am creating a tool to make it easy. It would work in two

RE: To Deinterlace or not?
I found this article: "Interlaced vs Progressive Editing" : http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtechbeta/interlacedvsprogressive.html Myself, I routinely shoot HDV (Sony Z1), live-capture the m2t by HdvSplit, and reframe and downscale (to SD

RE: removing HV20 pulldown
Boy, it's nice there's a workaround, and I certainly didn't want to spend the money on Cineform if I didn't have to, but I'm always reluctant when sooo many steps/various software components are involved. If you're comfortable with these components,

RE: OT: Need answers, PS3
blink, 1) Yes. You just put .M2T file into the VIDEO folder and burn to DL DVD. PS3 will automatically find that file. 2) Yes. 3) I didn't try BD-R yet, but my PS3 plays BD-RE perfectly. Authored with Ulead DVD MF6+ with HD pack. BTW, Check

RE: XP Pro Service Pack 2
When you uninstall Norton, go to the Symantec site and get their cleaner/uninstaller. Norton Removal Tool It removes EVERYTHING (registry, files in the Windows folder, etc.). Also, if the performance hit was only 20%, that would be bad, but not

RE: SD DVD from HDV footage
To get HDV into AviSynth is slightly fiddly, requiring use of DgIndex (to generate d2v index files) then MPEG2Source to read that instead. I've done most of what you describe, including using VFAPIconv to read the results of the AVS script back

RE: SD DVD from HDV footage
This is what I have so far reasoned to be the approach, at the expense of complexity and fiddliness..... Comments welcome. Getting interlaced footage from one scale to another requires that it is deinterlaced before edits, then reinterlaced

RE: OT: Lessons from the Death of HD-DVD
A rather interesting thread on the AVS forum entitled "PS3 vs BD50". I was gearing up for the PS3.... I like the idea of M2T playback, But sound is also pretty important to me. Aparently the PS3 will not bitstream Dolby True HD. There is debate as

RE: OT:No HDMI audio through amp. Now what?
"I always spend some time with the very knowledgeable folks at www.avsforum.com " I second that! The AVS forum is full of people with heavy experience in these areas. It's also where you will find BD/ Toshiba employees and insiders.

RE: OT:No HDMI audio through amp. Now what?
The first problem is Best Buy. Next. You need a HDMI 1.3 capable receiver otherwise you will not get audio via the HDMI cable. Onkyo has some receivers that will do this. The Denon 3808ci will also handle this. Before buying anything to do with

RE: How can I hook up this HD TV to Vegas?
Not sure if it's possible for me to upgrade my card. Can I buy a Canopus converter or run cableing through my Sony HVR-Z1U to the TV to maintain HD signal? For example, right now, using the AV->DV converter function, I hook up my GL-2 between my
