RE: What rec frame rate & bit rate would u choose ?
Depends on what your output / display format is going to be. I mostly shoot in 1080p@30fps with the highest bite rate the camera has. Then batch render the trimmed footage to XDCAM-ex for timeline editing. XDCAM has much lower system

RE: Can''t load BMPCC clips into Vegas Pro 13
Looks like a problem for Blackmagic and Sony to figure out. I don't think you're missing anything. Any recent version of QuickTime for the PC supports reading ProRes files. Since it works on Vegas Pro 12.0 it sure sounds like a bug in Vegas Pro

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
FYi, John Cline, I am like you, I have had no problems with BlackMagic products and its because I know I have years of config experience with difficult combinations. At first thought, I might be lucky as well. But here are some hard facts about the

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
videoITguy, I haven't had any motherboard issues with the three Blackmagic cards I'm running, I guess I'm just lucky. I don't use them in Vegas much, I just use the stand-alone HDLink app for capture and conversion to Cineform in real-time. Hard

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
"That's almost certainly a QuickTime problem. Irrelevant to the question of Vegas correctly handling 10 bit video through its 32bit pipeline." Unfortunately you are wrong, Bob. Right, we are talking about a QT problem - but it is the question how

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
One more option that apparently hasn't been discussed is getting a Blackmagic DeckLink Mini Recorder PCIe capture card for HD-SDI and HDMI, it lists for $145. Next is buying the GoPro (Cineform) Studio Premium software for $299, using the included

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
OK, time to stop dithering and break out the plastic. Bob, thank you for your last comments. I had spent part of the afternoon researching buying another PC for use in the studio with the "Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro car" and the proper mother

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
I do not know why here is still stated that one cannot work in Vegas with 10bit. That is very very wrong. Here we have a camera that seems to deliver trud 10bit too. So this is still a valid possibility. For the Blackmagic codec - I would test

Lash-up your HDMI connector with strain relief in the studio - to a live BlackMagic Intensity Pro card for $199.00 - record to very fast SSD drive of 500GB on a good compatible motherboard or SATA3 or RAID. Record at the highest bitrate in

RE: Installing and using the Acid DNxHD codec in Vegas
Thanks to everybody for their contributions here. Bob, I like your suggestion of trans-coding to XDCAM EX 50mbps codec in a MXF wrapper using a tool such as Vegasaur. I'll be adding Vegasaur to our list of tools to buy. Wolfgang, You said "if

Maybe this thread will serve to cap off the discussion in two other somewhat similar threads posted in the past here on the forum and referenced at the end of this post... We are about to order the Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle 2 so we can

More on the Radeon 6970
So have been reading about how the Radeon 6970 is not a bad (older) video card to work with Vegas. I acquired one just recently to try out. I replaced it with my Nvidia GTX570 (uninstalled all the drivers) Installed the recommended 13.9 AMD driver
