AAF has nothing to do with Premiere / After Effects. It's and AVID interchange format. There is no way Vegas can (or ever did) write detailed timelines into Premiere, etc. Just use in intermediate file export. Didn't you test with the FREE TRIAL

Well I tried a few more things and somehow got my 4k 29.970 FPS file to render after several unsuccessful attempts. Damn that's frustrating when nothing works for several hours! Ended up using drop shadows on each individual clip instead of the
