RE: 10-bit color displays - impossible in Vegas 12?
Sorry been offline today. But to videoIT guy, just https://www.google.com/search?q=10+bit+color+windows+7 Several good sites where you can download or create gradient files plus test 10-bit support on your end. I did some further testing. No

RE: 10-bit color displays - impossible in Vegas 12?
Could be that you are confusing several things in the manner of getting 10bits. 1) a hardware chain that is able to pass and display 10bits of info from a file that has inside of its container 10bits of information. A) Does your video monitor

10-bit color displays - impossible in Vegas 12?
I've just upgraded by setup with nVidia K5000 cards and Dell 10-bit Ultrasharps connected via DisplayPort 1.2. 10-bit color is working great in Photoshop and Premiere Pro. However, testing reveals higher bit depth settings in Vegas still only gives

RE: OT: Metabones speed boosters.
They are a relatively new development and are gaining rapid favour among owners of the Blackmagic range of cameras, particularly the MFT equipped Cinema and Pocket Cinema cameras, as way to utilise the full coverage of the cropped sensors. The BM

RE: Intensity Shuttle USB-3 and Vegas
Yeah I agree. I think the mindset is that BlackMagic makes cards for other peoples software. When in fact the Shuttle is a DVR meant to be a component apart of a larger live video system. Like the live video switching gear or the cameras they

RE: Intensity Shuttle USB-3 and Vegas
astar, You are pretty much right-on the money. The issue of the shuttle being a tool to view better video - begs the question - how in the heck will you get it to a display monitor of any sort that will show. On the other hand, realizing that

RE: Intensity Shuttle USB-3 and Vegas
I have an Intensity Shuttle USB-3 running on a P55-USB3 board. The device works really well if you stick to using the BlackMagic Media Express capture software, then import those files to Vegas. Edit in Vegas, and render back to the blackmagic

Intensity Shuttle USB-3 and Vegas
I'm about to review Intensity Shuttle USB-3 from Blackmagic Design. Anyone tried it with Vegas Pro. It's supposed to vastly improve playback with real time FX etc. Keen to hear anyone's experiences. David

RE: Will this RAW recorder work with Vegas 12 & NX5?
Atomos make their own SDI-HDI converter and Blackmagic also makes a very small converter. I do however believe that the HDMI output on the NX5U also has 422 like the one on the Z5U but I cant confirm it. Bob is however right too, the Z5U and NX5

RE: Will this RAW recorder work with Vegas 12 & NX5?
I suspect the Shuttle will not record RAW. I think I have heard this before, and I could not find any reference to RAW recording on the B&H or Blackmagic sites. Uncompressed and RAW are two very different things. Also, I did not see any

Will this RAW recorder work with Vegas 12 & NX5?
I just came across this affordable RAW recorder from Blackmagic. I do much grading and chromakeying. My camera is Sony HXR NX5. The NX5 has RAW SDI output (not sure about the bit). Getting RAW directly out of the cam instead of the compressed H264

RE: Why does Vegas choke on GoPro 1080p60 files
doesn't like the new BlackMagic 4K camera files either. But Sony doesn't have to worry about that, since people using those camera will be using real software. ;)

BMPC4K files preview = 13.5fps?
messing with those BlackMagic Production Camera 4K files preview remains at 13.5(ish) frames per second. First up, I am aware 4k files are large and hard to deal with etc, I understand that, but what I find curious is that it is ALWAYS around 13.5

And also harking back to the original question, the statement came from Blackmagic Design, a company that has an entrenched Mac view of the world.

RE: Can't import uncompressed videos in Movie Studio
BlackMagic states that it records in uncompressed quicktime format, so it should be playable in quicktime player in a first place. MovieStudio uses quicktime libraries to read quicktime files, so you need to fix quicktime somehow.

Are AJA and BM .dlls fixed in the latest build?
Not sure if the older release notes ever get edited, but the first release version of 12.0 still reads: "You can now preview audio through supported AJA and BlackMagic Design video preview devices." In the VP12 builds I've tried so far (I believe

RE: Codec conversion - advantage or not...
Geoff, regarding the true 1920 x 1080 I emphasize the ‘unless I’m mistaken’ phrase which is to say I don’t really know this to be a fact, and the technology is certainly over my head, but I think it goes something like as follows. The sensor
