  The .vegcap files are not the media files but meta data only which cannot be imported into Movie Studio. On the bottom of the Screen Capture window there is a button which directly imports finished recordings into the Project Media of Movie Studio.

  I couldn't stand windows 8/8.1, but 10 is my fav since XP. I know things like screen capture don't work right in windows 7, and as Pascal mentioned, there's other stability reasons why you would not want to run Vegas 17 on Win7.

  Same here. The Screen Capture app recognizes my two displays but shows nothing in them. It also recognizes the external sound interface but not the microphone attached to it, even though Vegas does when recording to the timeline.

  I think this is a known issue. On my system the microphone input never was recognized by the screen capture app while it worked fine inside Vegas Pro and other apps. Already reported.

  When I open the Screen Capture Dialog, I can see both screens. I have Speakers/Headphones as my default system sound source, and I can hear the sound from my PC speakers as I capture the screen, but there is no activity on the audio meters on Screen
