RE: Differences between Vegas Movie Studio 10 and 12
The day to day editing remains on the surface very similar. So, there's no real learning curve switching/upgrading from 10 to 12. The most significant reasons are dependent on your computer system. If you have a 64 bit operating system, version 12

RE: Paraphrasing Adobe secrets- how to unlock GPU
Ah! Some "Serena-Serenity". Thank you. I don't care (well I do!) splashing out 3x the amount for a video card. What I care MORE about is the almost fumbled way the inevitable and seductive way OFX ( which is a good thing), has been slipped out of

    RE: Vegas and instability
I've never worked with AVCHD source, and thinking back, my "instability days" started at around the time my source media stopped being Standard Def MPG2 files. Typically my files will be MOV containers - Arri Alexa 4444 pro res files, EOS files. I

RE: Is any vegas user seriously upgrading to Win 8?
I upgraded 2 Windows XP machines to Windows 8. Despite their having XP loaded on them previously, they were not exceptionally old hardware. They were machines that I built in the last couple of years, loaded with OEM versions of XP SP3. So making

RE: Is any vegas user seriously upgrading to Win 8?
I would agree with DDM. I have been running VMS11 on win8 CP, and RP, and have not upgraded to Win8 release yet. Vegas is very stable on on my configuration. I build my own systems and select hardware more for stability instead of how fast it

RE: Is any vegas user seriously upgrading to Win 8?
I hate to constantly come to the defense of Windows 8. No one is obligated to upgrade. I do, however actually love using it for several good reasons. Main reason, I guess, is the overall zippiness of the system, on identical hardware, which is all

    RE: Vegas Pro 10
Since V Pro 10 never claimed compatibility with Windows 8, I'm not certain if this will help - but, if you did an "upgrade" to 8 instead of a clean install, it's possible that the latency of your audio hardware interfacing with the O/S might have

RE: Is any vegas user seriously upgrading to Win 8?
I actually have a Lenovo Touchscreen i7 computer that I thought would be an ideal candidate for upgrading to Windows 7. Unfortunately, there are several components on this PC that have no Windows 8 drivers yet, including the Bluetooth interface

Hi, Thanks for the info. Doc. I've found one of my problems. In version 11 I can use my number pad keys or the number keys at the top of the keyboard to jump to the appropriate marker. However, in version 12 only the numbers at the top of the

RE: Sony Vegas not rendering past 80%
If you have only a Phenom X4 9650 (965?) at 3 GHz, it's overclocked not underclocked. Plus, I'm reading mixed messages here. I understood your processor was running at 100% and only 80% of the video was rendering. Now, you're at 25% CPU usage and

Hi. I'm no "expert," you know, one who knows more and more about less and less...but can offer a few things for you to check. Do you have Apple Quick Time installed? Have you updated ALL your system drivers? It would probably help if you said

RE: Which video card? nVidia vs. AMD Radeon
I had a very disturbing call with Sony that makes me wonder about Vegas as a whole and why I bothered purchasing Vegas 12. I asked their sales line whether Vegas 12 works with the GTX 600 series of video cards for GPU acceleration. I was told that

    RE: rendering in Vegas 8
Since your system specs are not available here, we have no way of knowing if you could benefit from a hardware upgrade to speed up your 8 hour render. Vegas 12 will allow you to make use of the processing resources in video adapters, but you don't

    RE: Upgrade Vegas 6
Why are you guys stuck on XP? Windows 8 Pro upgrade is only $39.99. That's a pretty attractive upgrade offer. I agree, it IS a great price. But that price won't take me to 64-bit, I'd need the CD version. Again, only $70, and you can install it

    My opinion on Vegas 12
As it is the last day to discount upgrade and I upgraded today I thought I would add a few quick opinions to the debate. I have always avoided a Vegas initial release. I have been working with Vegas 9 for the last 3 years and it has served me well.

    RE: computer upgrade
Version 12 will most certainly take advantage of the upgraded hardware on a Windows 7 64 bit system. But any version will run much better on an i7 than on an i3 -- just like any car will be faster with a 6.5 litre engine than it will with a 2.0

No, you can't run new versions of Vegas on Windows XP Yep, it looks like the Core Duo was 32-bit. The Core 2 Duo was 64-bit (It's what I'm using at work with Win7-64). My point about CPUs is that non-64-bit CPUs are pretty long in the tooth and
