Why does Vegas keep crashing on me....Auuuuggghhh
Here's the short version of the events that led to my current situation. I was running Vegas 8.0A perfectly. One of the projects in my video class is to put together a remix to a music video. I had a couple of DVDs which I purchased from Best Buy to

RE: Can not render AVCHD 1920x1080
I get the answer from Sony: 1) End any applications or background processes that may be running during the render (this includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, screensaver, registry cleaner, etc.) 2) In Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, go to Options>

RE: Bug? Exception running Export To EDL script
My mistake above - I was running Export XML, not EDL as the subject line says. And the sample project that shows this bug is the "24p widescreen.veg" sample supplied with Vegas 8.0. I filed support case '081008-000007'. Here's the error message

RE: Vegas 8c Rendering problem!!
"Do only the quad-core machines have problems"? NO! When all else fails, I use an old P4 3gHz (a single-core Intel CPU) on an Intel 875 motherboard to do the rendering, but if I set it to "multithreading" in bios and then set the threads to 2 in

RE: Jerky playback on some DVD players
Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry about the 192 minutes; it should have been 132 minutes. And I'm not really compressing to mpg twice, because when I render after putting all the scenes together it is with the same template (except for 2-pass) so

RE: My opinion on all these Vegas bug reports
Here is my quick thoughts on this: 1-I've been saying for several years that what was holding back vegas was that it is based on VFW (microsoft video for windows) technology which is way beyond its life cycle end. Solid, but limited. I got

Crashing while rendering with nested veg.
Does anybody know what would be causing Veg 8b pro to crash while rendering. It was rendering just plain ordinary widescreen DV although it is nexted. Do I have to render each nest file by it self? Do I need to reinstall? I was able to render

RE: HDV users: please read
The new DLL makes it possible for me to import AVCHD files from the new Panasonic HMC150 camera. Without this dll, Vegas Pro 8.0b locked up on imports and gave a divide by zero error with the files. Only issue I see is that it still locks up on

RE: Perfect Camera?
The reason I hate tapes is that they are mechanical and require head cleaning when you least want it (during a shoot). I keep a cleaning tape in my camera bag. I've NEVER had to clean the recording heads though, just the play heads. But that

RE: 23.976 IVTC > 24p >23.976 IVTC Workflow Question
What happens to the video really doesn't matter, you should only need it for reference in the audio application. A lot of audio post houses still use SP and I doubt they strike a 35mm print from that SP dub! The audio on the other hand does

RE: 23.976 IVTC > 24p >23.976 IVTC Workflow Question
There's a simple enough way to do this in Vegas. I've posted this before: Switch T/L to Absolute Frames. Note down the number of frames at the end. Switch to 24p. Now stretch vision and sound to the exact same number of frames. No resampling

RE: Pulldown
I am pretty sure that ALL NTSC DVD players can handle a disk with 23.976 progressive video with the pulldown flag. AFIK, this is how ALL Hollywood movies are encoded and is one of several reasons why they look so good, even when encoded at very low
