RE: SOT: Blackmagic Intensity
The live HDMI output from most HDV camcorders is 4:2:2 8-bit uncompressed with uncompressed audio. I have used the Blackmagic Intensity in conjunction with the Cineform codec to capture live output from the camcorder, it looks [i]significantly[/]

RE: SOT: Blackmagic Intensity
Good Point: a Low Cost Consumer Camera can be either SD or HD. (I guess I just read my situation into it as I have access to many affordable SD/DV shooters but myself shoot & deliver HD) hmmm... If I were shooting HD (as I do) I wouldn't care

RE: SOT: Blackmagic Intensity
I am fully acquainted with the engineers at BlackMagic, and I fully support their product line for broadcasting. HOWEVER, what you have taken slightly out of context, and misinterpreted - is something that the BlackMagic people hand over to

RE: OT: Metabones Speed Booster.
Bob, Thanks for the link from Roger. I really trust his take on things to be fair. I'm a fan of LensRentals, having rented and bought from them quite a bit. They've always delivered on what was promised. The existence of the Speed Booster is

Intermittent black video in preview & render
Since installing ver 12 I've been experiencing intermittent problems with both the preview window and the results of renders where the video is black. My timeline always has a few clips of AVI with a Blackmagic motion JPEG codec. Sometimes levels

RE: Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime = no video stream
I don't use Blackmagic hardware. The codec even works without a card.

RE: Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime = no video stream
Inside Vegas the option is there to output Quicktime 7 using Blackmagic 10 Bit. I rendered a loop region and it looks like it rendered it just fine. Almost 600mbits/sec, a little over 10 sec of footage and it output an almost 1 gig file. Sounds

RE: Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime = no video stream
Did you install the codec? For me these Hyperdeck 10 bit Quicktime videos work well in Vegas Pro after I installed the package "Desktop Video 9.6.6 for Windows" from Blackmagic.

Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime = no video stream
Has anyone else had problems with the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 when recording "Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime" where Vegas doesn't recognize the video stream? I'm using Sony Vegas 10, and dropping the file in to a project results in only the

RE: OT - Codec Survey
At first glance, this is interesting, but on study it does not tell or SELL. Here is what I mean: Particularly with the wide variant of customer base as supports Vegas, there is as much variance in codec flows as there are users. To begin with ,

VP11 and missing ASIO devices
Hi gang, I have a MOTU 828 MK2 sound device which I use via ASIO on Vegas Pro 11 (haven't moved to 12 because project renders crash on me). I recently bought and installed a BlackMagic card for video output, and it came with a BlackMagic ASIO

RE: Advice on GPU choice for Vegas 10 or 12
The i7 you listed will render AVC much faster than any all-in-one you had back with VV8. The onboard GPU will also most likely accelerate faster than the All-in-one you had back with VV8. Memory: As a general rule of thumb I always look for the

RE: apple quicktime .MOV movie files
Just an FYI - http://www.oldversion.com/windows/quicktime/ Black screen with audio is most certainly a codec issue. Vegas seems to be optimized for XDCAM and uncompressed. You may want to figure out your work flow from your camera and convert

RE: VHS - Best way to improve quality?
I capture using a Blackmagic Intensity Pro using 4:2:2 color space. (DV is only 4:1:1 and MPEG2 is typically 4:2:0) I then uses Neat Video to remove video noise and Vegas to do color correction. I use Izotope RX and Sound Forge to clean up the

RE: Dual DVI + HDMI output video card recommendations?
I run two monitors from a single GFX card (nVidia GTX 550Ti) and have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card for HDMI video output; works fine (well, apart from GPU acceleration which always crashes but that's a Vegas issue I think)

OT: Comparing the 5D MKIII vs. BMD Cinema Camera
