RE: Vegas being inconsistent with aspect ratios.
Well, this is what's really confusing me. Here's an image of the video as it looks in Media Player: http://puu.sh/4ijGH.png And here's an image of the video after I've put it through Vegas: http://puu.sh/4ijyS.png (with intentional colour

RE: Quite a few things going wrong x.x
Well, FRAPS does pose its own challenges, since it uses a non-standard codec to create its video. When you open one of your FRAPS files in G Spot or Media Info, what resolution, frame rate and, above all, codec are listed?

RE: Quite a few things going wrong x.x
Hi Steve, thanks for your advice. :) I actually use AVI files in 720 or 1080p that record from fraps when I work with video. I will now get on with your advice and report back, thanks!

RE: MSP-12 Suite Freeze when adjusting video speed...
The files I posted are when MSP tells me when it crashes. I guess they don't help if you didn't recognize them lol. When I hit VFW, a drop down menu of codecs, I suppose, appear as follows: Full Frames (Uncompressed) Cinepak Codec by Radius Intel

RE: MSP-12 Suite Freeze when adjusting video speed...
OK, VFW is the type of AVI compression Vegas uses. Uncompressed is the highest quality reproduction possible, but it is not a playback codec, in any sense. MJPEG can be dicey, depending on the encoder, so that's why I suggestedtrying an

RE: Sony Vegas cutting frames?
Those numbers indicate your preview display quality, frames and resolution. They have nothing to do with your actualy footage or what your finished output will look like. Your preview quality can decrease for a number of reasons -- the most common

Thanks, I will d/l that utility and report back. I have also posted my issue on the FRAPS boards, as advised.

RE: No audio
Post your complete file properties using MediaInfo from Sourceforge. Also your Quicktime version. Many people are using Fraps in Vegas, so a search of their forums may lead you to an answer.

No audio
I know this is a novice question and i apologise but this is my first time using Movie Studio Platinum 12. I tried to edit two game footage clips recorded in FRAPS. Different games, neither appeared to have audio when I dragged the clips over into

RE: Unmanaged Exception Error
I did a 18-minute project a couple of years ago using hundreds of Fraps clips with Vegas 9. It was certainly bogging down the timeline, and I was seeing occasional red frames. I eventually started converting Fraps to Cineform using VirtualDub as

Fraps is a 32 bit codec, the last time I checked. There are whole threads dedicated to using it with Vegas, on the Fraps Forums.

Hey All, I have been having a problem where I can not render any clip in vegas that was recorded with my desktop recording software, fraps. The rendering will stop randomly and I always get this error. Extra Information File:

They look good. And thanks for taking time to do the comparisons. I'm sure you'll want to put your findings and results on fraps forum, too.

RE: Terrible quality on Youtube compared to other prog
Increasing the number of reference frames "shouldn't" affect Youtube quality directly, but I'll be checking out your observations next month to see what I can learn from them. In the meantime, if you're pleased with the quality, then mission

RE: Terrible quality on Youtube compared to other prog
Hi Edward, There are a few reasons this is happening: One is, that Vegas has always been finicky with resizing/framerate/etc. It is very exacting in how you must set things, in order to get high-quality output. There are a few places where you

You see, you are trying to re-encode CG animation in an environment that was optimized for noisy camera video. Same with Youtube. AVC in Vegas Movie Studio doesn't offer the level of control for optimizing animation. Higher bitrates only help up to

Thank you for your video. I have watched it and I'll give it a try. It is very dissapointing that this can't be done properly by exporting directly from Movie Studio. I've chosen those high bitrates to make sure no artifacts appear on my screen,

RE: Terrible quality on Youtube compared to other prog
It's more important to know the properties of the video you uploaded to Youtube. Use MediaInfo from Sourceforge and post those properties. 20-30 Mbps is way too high, as YT will compress it to about 10% of that bitrate. Our video tutorial gives

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not inputting ffrom a camcorder. Instead it is video of a 3D world recorded using FRAPS. It sounds to me like it is the change to 64 bit that may be doing it. If I upgraded to Movie Studio 12 will it still read

This sounds like your video needs pre-rendered or is a mismatch with your project settings. What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it? What are your project properties? Have you set your project
