I get this problem on a variety of clip formats. It is definately not specific to one format.

My solution: save project, close Vegas, open Vegas, reload project = red clips gone... at least for a while.

BTW, my red clips on not just a cosmetic problem. Clips in red do not render or preview at all for me.
