100% crash rate in VP18 with "Video Preview on External Monitor"

I am in Vegas Pro 18 Suite (284)

I can NOT get a preview on a secondary monitor. When I click on the button (or Alt+shift+4) the external monitor goes black, and VP18 crashes. It does not bring up a crash report either.

I have 3 total monitors. 3x Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q 27" 4K UHD. I can not get it to show on either of the other monitors when I change up the option.

If I try moving the VP18 main window to one of the other monitors, it also crashes.

Things I have tried:

I tried updating the graphics driver.

I switched from 8-bit full range and back to 8-bit video.

I tried a new installation of Windows and no other programs or plugins installed yet (I am sure I burned my 2nd registration for now on that one).

I have tried pulling files from both a brand new 1 day old 2TB M.2 Inland drive, and also a Samsung SSD Raid 0 configuration.

I have turned GPU acceleration off and on.

I jumped up and down in my chair.

I slammed my fist on the desk.

I bruised my pinky.

I regretted that decision and asked for forgiveness.

I tried VP17, VP14 and VP13 (all latest versions) and they all work. It is only happening in VP18.

My system:

VP18 build 284

Radeon VII (Driver currently is 27.20.2001.9003 and was 26.20.13025.10004 when I first tried).

3x Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q 27" 4K UHD Monitors

Ryzen 9 3900x,

Crosshair VII Hero, X570 Motherboard

64GB RAM

Windows 10 Pro 1903 (currently back to that as I have everything installed on that build ) and I assume the clean OS install I did earlier was 2004 as I downloaded the fresh install from Microsoft today onto my flash drive.

Video files I have tried are from Sony a7sii and Sony a7rii. Tried 4K files at both 24p and 30p. All with the same result.

I am late to the party, but I am experiencing the same issue with preview to external monitor. I have the following :

Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula

OS: Windows 10 pro 64 bit

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3950x

RAM: 64gb DDR4 3200

Graphics: Asus TUF Nvisia RTX3080 OC

Monitors: LG 32UL500 & LG 27UL500 - both 4k

Sabrent Rocket 1tb system

The moment I click preview to external monitor the external monitor goes black and stays black until I shut down and re-start Vegas. I am running build 527 and I am pretty sure this just started happening with the version before 527 (was it 482 or something like that?). Enable Legacy AVC decoder (in the File I/O menu) does not help.

Rendering is fast but Vegas crashes about 15 times a day at random times for no apparent reason that I can discern - again all since build 482. I have been so busy there has been no time to complain.

Sorry - that's off subject. Maybe the next Vegas build will fix this problem. I wander if maybe preview to external monitor only works on intel processors with intel GPU built in?
