1080i capture and edit

i just captured a video which was shot in 1080i into vegas 7. When i bring the file to the timeline and right click on it, go to properties and click the media tab, the attributes read 720x480x24. Does this suggest that it did not capture in 1080i? If so, how do I assure myself that the capture is in sync with the footage? Thank you

What was the 1080i shot on, how did you capture it into Vegas and what device did you play the tape in?

It's quite possible the tape is HDV 1080i but the deck was in Downconvert so you and Vegas captured a SD downconverted version of the video.
