10B fails to load on 32-bit also

I have a new computer (custom Intel Core i7 CPU, 950@3.07 GHz) 6 GB RAM, 1 TB SATA - Other applications work well, graphics superb) GeForce GTX 460 card

I started with the 64-bit system - loaded well, Vegas had crashes like others I see here
Keep in mind that this computer is dedicated to audio and video
Many of the plug-ins I used (like Sound forge) aren't supported in my recording software (Nuendo) with 64 bit and neither is their DTS/Dolby encoders. So much for post processing film.

ANSWER: Start fresh with a new SATA drive and Windows 7 32-bit. I sacrificed 3 GB RAM but my software apps don't ever approach the max, so I don't see 64 but as being anything more than a headache.

Problem: Vegas Pro 100B 32 bit exe will not go beyond "SONY WINDOWS INSTALLER PRELOADER" It hangs, I can't close the "vegaspro100b_32bit.exe) program even with the task manager. When I click "End process", I have to reboot the computer to get it off the "Processes" tab. After a fresh re-boot I have the same issue with Vegas when tried.

Where can I get the original "a" version?? I'm willing to bet someone's fix included installation errors. But I seriously need this working (staring at 11 DVDs that need work for an indie film soon!) and appreciate any help. Thanks much!

Thank you Tom for replying before my post was deleted or moved. I have been buying Sony before when it was Sound Forge (4.5, Acid 3,4,5,6, Vegas, DVD, Architect, etc) and this was the first intallation problem.
I did download the first issue "a" and had the same problem. I called Tech support (both my computer specialist and Sony's tech support) and no one could figure it out. The only problem I saw was the key usage digital signature (80) message under details was flagged (Sony's publisher's Certificate). Maybe Windows had a problem with that - who knows - but I decided to copy that discrepancy and send it to Sony using print screen and bingo - the program loaded! I did absolutely nothing different - it just works now.
So I guess, send this off to the strange pile of post.
Have a good New Year
Dave
