As a recent buyer of the -170, I'll second that WooHoo! This is one great cam!

What, you didn't buy a Panasonic camera like we all told you to?
How will Barry and me eat?.

Why no....are the Panny's able to see in the dark now? ;-) I'm a closet shooter and need the low light capability...it gets dark in here.

Ah well, actually they can, can't say I know anyone whose seriously used it but they do push the DVC30 with an IR lamp on top for just that.

Congrats on getting a 170. I moved up from the 150 last year and now I can shoot in very low-light situations with no problem at all, where the Panasonic could not handle same.

It's also very easy to handle and use - I'm sure you'll be very happy with it!

I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry Bob, the Panasonic Subliminal Messages didn't make it through.......... ;-)

Last weekend we were in Phoenix to be with family over New Year's. I did some shooting outdoors at night with my trusty VX-2000, a close cousin of your 170, of some spectacular Christmas lights on the local Mormon temple grounds--

Amazing. I think the VX-2000 can see better in the dark than a human can.
