Hi gang,
Just wondeirng is anyone has come across bitrate problems when rendering mpg2's in the aspect ratio of 2.21:1 on Vegas pro 9c (64) when converting down from HD to SD?
Upon importing the file into DVD Architect 5, it thinks the bitrate is always 9.917, regardless of actually what it is.
Vegas Project set-up:
1920x869 progressive (basically a 1080p project, cut down to a 2.21:1 aspect ratio)
Vegas Render settings:
MPeg2 based off DVD NTSC, with the following changes:
Aspect ratio: 2.21:1
Field Order: None
Bitrates: Variable with 9,000,000 as the upper limit, OR Constant with 9,000,000 as the limit.
No sound.
The file is under 100Mb and less than 40 seconds long.
DVD Architect 5 Project: NTSC DVD, progressive..
The outcome:
Depending on the seleted bitrate, windows "file properties" generally confirms the file is of the correct bitrate.
However, when it is imported into DVD Architect Pro 5, it reports the file needs to be recompressed because it is too high of bitrate. Selecting options shows DVD Architect thinks it is 9.917, every time!
Also, the same thing occurs with a 3Mbps mpg2. DVD Architect still says it's 9.917Mbps. DVD Architect also says this is HIGHER than the max permitted, 10Mbps. Go figure!
Of course, I don't want it to recompress it, because it turns to murky mud. But it does fix it.
Any ideas on this one?
Cheers,
Jason
