I have 2 basic questions about Vegas 4.0. 1) I would like to keep my video preview window separate and always on. However, when I go to a media event on the timeline and click on the icon to open the effects window or the composite window, it opens those windows OVER the video preview window. Or over the explorer window. You never know where the window will open up next. Is there a way to lock the windows and customize where your windows open up at?
Also, 2) I have created a move across a media event in the composite window. Now, whenever I make a "split" within the media event on the timeline, the motion slows down as it approaches the split, then ramps back up past the split. I think the program assumes by default that you want to "ease into" each split. How do you turn OFF this function so that the event keeps moving through a split? I've heard this might be called "linear" or "cubic".
