2 Capture Questions

1) For the life of me I can not discern the difference between capture in/out and log in/out. They seems to behave identically and even the manual presents in nearly identical means.

what is really the important difference ?

2) I want o capture a whole tape without any silly sub clips. Just give me what ever is on the tape. The only way I see of doing this is setting capture in/out to something unobtainable like 70 mins of tape and relying upon the s/w to stop when it sees no data flow.

As a s/w designer this appears to be a really stupid way of doing it.

Is there a check box somewhere which gives me what I want ?? I can't see it

thanks Vincej

Turn off scene detection. Click the 'Capture Video' button. VidCap will capture whatever it sees until it sees no more. It even seems smart enough to keep capturing after a gap, but ignore everything after the last bit of recorded video.

Dumb question....How do you turn off "scene detection?"

In VidCap, Options / Preferences / Capture. It's the first item there.
