2 Dumb Questions

1. While editing a video clip how do you capture a frame of video as a picture?

2. I am using the demo until my copy arrives. I wanted to watch a sample movie, but my Windows Player had an error downloading the codec. I never tried to watch a DV-AVI with media player - is this possible? Is something wrong with my player? I tried a Korean Player called "GomPlayer" which basically can watch anything and again all I got was audio no video. I did include the video in the sample movie so I know that is not the problem.

Thanks, really starting to warm up to this program.

On the far right next to the video window is a icon that looks like a floppy disk. Just click it.

Before you capture a still make sure you set display at project size and quality = best.

Yes, though if you've rendered the video it's probably not DV any more. I don't know why it should be a problem though - if you've rendered OK you must have the codec.

Where do I make those settings?

"Display at project size" is an option at the top of the preview window. Changing the preview quality is a bit more complicated (the first time).

Go to Options and then ctrl shift preferences. This will give you a new tag marked "Internal". In the text box at the bottom type "advanced" and then set the value of "Show Advanced Features" to "True". Exit, restart MS and you'll have a new option to change the preview quality.
