Hi

THE GOOD NEWS

I just found MediaShow Espresso from cyberlink

If I put my Canon AVCHD files in to it and sellect m2ts for out put

Put them in to vegas and smart render then works as expected this is with £50 software still on version one so it can be done one slight snag though my files are 25,000 fps it outputs 29.970 I have asked cyberlink how to change it to 25,000 output

I am only guessing but I bet the answer comes faster than the fix needed for vegas pro 9

And it uses the nidia VC in my pc for renering it can do more then one file at a time and is a whole lot faster

Are any of the sony test AVCHD files in 25,000 fps that is the format my canon works in it is a UK model

I just took one of the my canon files put it in Vegas and renderd it out as 29,970fps avchd m2ts

Then i took that clip back into Vegas twice with an overlap and it all works as it should

So does this point to a 25,000fps render fault ??

I take on board what you say but goods in the UK must be fit for perpose end of story How would you feel if a washing machene had a killer feature but when you got it it did not work -

No.
I'm inputting 29.97 from my SR11. There is something deeper happening.

Hi

If you get time try puttting your file through MediaShow Espresso from cyberlink and see what the output file does when back in vegas

I put 8 files all of them were no good in vegas into the cyberlink programe then put them the back in vegas POW with a 1s overlap between each clip Vegas ran like a train (express) only slowing at each x fade :)

I gave it a shot.... doesn't work at all for me. In fact when I try to import to Vegas all I get is the audio and even with that only 2 out of the six surround channels appear on the time line. (My cam has Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound so that may be confusing the cyberlink program).

Hi

Shame maybe it was 'cos your file started as 29,970 mine was 25,000

Have you sent eric a file from you that wont smart render I ask 'cos he told me in a reply yesterday that the file I sent was the only one he had got that showed the problem

I did send him a test sample, but he didn't say much about it. He did say that he repro'ed the issue with somebody else's sample (which I assume was you).

Hi Blink and everyone else

I did not notice the DD problem I only use 2 channels

As for it not working for you I had 2 systems for tests

XP and vista 64 the xp32 worked as I said yesterday but to day espresso was outputing 25,000 and vegas would not render

The XP32 install I had was set for English, United Kingdom for language, but system locale was set to English, United States. the Expresso programme language was set to auto, which gives NTSC frame rates and sizes when fed with 25000 fps

The Vista machine was set to English, United Kingdom for locale, this meant espresso output PAL format with 25000 fps

So, to sum up, the output setting of Expresso software is dependent of the locale settings in Windows

All is well on my pc with the NVidia 9600 card, however, when I use esspreso on a laptop, that has a Intel 965 mobile built in video card, Vegas doesn't recognise the tracks properly, and only imports the sound file, a bit like what you found
