2 quick questions(Background media looping)

Hi all,

I am using DVD3.0 and I am trying to do the following (if possible)

1. I have a background media playing (6 sec), and it loops, however at the end, is there a way to do a overlay transition to the begining of the clip (so you don't see a jump cut from the end to the begining)?

2. Is there a way to play a background media and freeze on the last frame and let that be the background image.

Thanks!

Well designing the media so it is seamless is most of your problem.
You can set a "loop point" so it does not always loop from the very
beginning. This was one of the most requested new features in 3.
Many wanted text to fade in and loop from there.

There is a trick to making seamlessly looping media. What you do in your NLE is split the media in the middle and swap the two clips so that the last is first and the first is last. (sounds kinda Biblical doesn’t it! ;-)) At this point what was the beginning and end are now the middle and you can crossfade them so they are more seamless. The new beginning and end will loop seamlessly because they were actually a continuous video before you split and moved them. It’s kind of hard to explain in text but is quite simple once you see it:
Original clip:
AAAAAAAAAA

Split clip:
AAAAABBBBB

Moved clips:
BBBBBAAAAA

Crossfaded clips:
AAAABABBBB

If you don’t loop your menu it will freeze on the last frame (of course the music will stop as well). There is no other option to freeze the video and keep the audio playing.

Thanks Johhny,

I'm reading and re-reading and maybe I just have to try it..I don't get the "Crossfaded clips"...did you have to re-move them from the "moved clips"?...in other words, how did you get from "moved clips" to "crossfaded clips"?

Another option I had going was trying to match the last frame of the clip to the first clip...it's too tedious and love your idea better...if I can get it to work :)
