2-way Radio Effect

I tried multiple searches for this topic and found only one vague response so I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I want to simulate voices transmitted over a 2-way radio but don't want to spend hours in the EQ. Does anyone have a template available or some settings they've used with success? Specifically, I'm looking for an aircraft/control tower chatter effect. Thanks in advance.

Sound Forge 7 ships with these kind of "Communication" sounds.

I believe you can also download all of the same sounds for about $20.

Check out the product catalog and it should be there; something "1,0001 sounds." Really good set of sounds.

Use some really nasty EQ - with the standard Track EQ Audio Plug-In:

1. Roll off everything under 1kHz - use Low Shelf (band 1) at 1kHz, set Rolloff (dB/oct) at 24 and gain at -inf
2. rollof everything over 2kHz - using similar settings on High Shelf (band 4)
3. adjust to taste - try boosting at 1.5kHz for an even more extreme effect.
4.Enjoy ;-)

Thank you, sir. I'll give it a look. Are there any suggestions for creating this within Vegas?

Excellent. I'll run with it. Thank you.

try using one of the presets in the resonance filter like "hank on escape route" and or a distortion filter like"transistor 1 or 2"

errr... this *is* within Vegas ;-)

Just use the 'Track FX' plug-in selector on the audio track and choose the standard Vegas Track EQ
