Definitely encode at 24p. You definitely do NOT, under any circumstance that I can think of, every want to encode to 29.97. Do NOT encode using any of the AVI "24p with pulldown" settings, but instead encode directly to MPEG-2.

The only issue I can think of is whether the MPEG-2 encode has to be at 23.976 or can be at 24p. There is a DVD Architect template for both. I do film work and so use the 23.967, so I don't know if 24p is handled correctly by the DVD player. I assume that it is, but someone else who knows will have to say.

John, as far as I know, 24p is handelt correct by both PAL and NTSC-DVD Players. There is a NTSC template for 24p NTSC DVDs, but not for PAL - since 24p is not so much used in the PAL areas, where 25p/50i is more usual. Beside that, I would like to see a 24p template for PAL too - and more important, also in the DVDA without encoding.
