25fps to 24fps

Using Vegas 22, I have converted some old newsreels from 25fps to their original speed of 24fps. When playing them back on TV, I expected the frames to be either blended out to 25fps, or to have a duplicated frame every second to match the TV standard. But they play smooth as silk, particularly noticeable when, for example, a car travels from one side of the screen to the other.

I would be most grateful if someone could explain.

I’m guessing that when VP uses conform to project frame rate that it adjusts the PTS, frames presentation time stamps, instead of blending or other methods.

I found that when done externally to vp using ffmpeg that vp produced similar quality. So that may explain it. Way to go.
