I just printed to tape a 1 hr. project and then had to make a very small and simple change (forgot to trim the audio at the end of the project). When I printed it to tape the 2nd. time, it took as long as the first to print. What did I do wrong?
jerryd,
I made the same mistake. What you need to do is pre-render small segments at a time (3-5 minutes). That way, chnaging one small thing doesn't force a re-render of the whole piece...just the segment that you changed.
Here's what you should see happening: The progress dialog comes up, sniffs for video that needs to be rendered, it finds none, then the audio proxy is built, then the print process begins.
It takes a little time to do all this, but since in your case you aren't re-rendering video, it'll go pretty fast.
I must be doing something wrong, because I tried a 2nd print to tape after only making a minor change to one audio clip (shortened the end of it). It took about 1hr to render the first print and about the same time to print the second time. ???
