Isn't 30p actually the same as 60i for slow motion? I don't have 60P on my DSLR but do have 30P and 60i, wouldn't I be better off using 30P? I do have 720P 60 fps and I guess I could uprez or black box it. Any opinions?
30p captures 3 images per second.
I sure Kelly meant "30p captures 30 images per second".
You mentioned 720-60p, and that would probably be your best bet, as it will give you 60 images per second with 720 pixel rows of detail each. Assuming you are talking about 1080-60i, each 60i "half image" will have 540 pixel rows of detail.
Looking at your post again, you may be remembering a discussion about bob deinterlacing. Takes 60i (29.97i) source and makes it 60p by interpolating fields. Welcome to try, but not natively in Vegas afaik.
