I notice when I changed settings to 32 bit, the video (in the preview pane) looks jerky when panning - something that doesn't happen in 8 bit. Do you know why that is, and is there a way to fix it?
The CPU is having to work much harder.
To fix it, get a much faster CPU.
Or edit in 8 bit and then switch to 32bit for the final render.
But be warned, the output might not be what you expect entirely.
Do as search for some very detailed information from Glenn Chan, it's not a trvial issue.
My user name on this forum doesn't have a space, so that might be why nothing showed up. (I also had a user account with the space, but I gave that account up and don't post with it.)
Thank you Mike for providing the link. That article and the linear light article ( http://glennchan.info/articles/vegas/linlight/linlight.htm ) gives some information on the subject. Unfortunately I don't demonstrate any banding artifacts or talk about banding (which I don't feel is as important/noticeable).
