3D panning without killing pixel density?

Hi!

I'm working on a somewhat big project, and for the intro, I want a kind of collage, similar to what DatJellyFish has done .

So, what I've done is, I've created the picture itself in Photoshop, with a resolution of 8K, allowing me to zoom in quite a lot without losing pixel density. This works in vegas, but only with the 2D pan tool. As soon as a set the composit mode to 3D alpha and try to do any fancy camera angles, the quality tanks, as if I'm zooming in on a regular size image. I really want this to be done 3D, so I need help.

Thank you.

If you are using the Track Motion, it defaults the source to the project resolution regardless of its original resolution. The only way to keep the original resolution is to use PAN/CROP which also has its limitations.

Alright so that explains it. Damn that sucks. Theoretically, if I set my project at 8k resolution, it should work?

I have never tried it so I can't say if it works or not. If all your other material is at a lower resolution, then things could get strange. The only way to know is to try it.

Sorry for late answer, but yup, I figured that out. Man it's limitation after limitation, one would be better off starting to learn After Effects/Premiere.

Well, I created 3D-ish movement at the desired quality using the 2D pan, along with a slight rotation it creates the illusion of 3D movement.. sort of.

Thank you regardless!
