Just out of curiousity, are/were you a Navy corpsman?

Patrick:

This is amazing and intriguing work.

I looked at the Bob Donlan site on how to do this, and the part about separating the 3 layers of the still in Z-space struck me.

A while ago, I did a clip using Vegas 3d and it was ok. But the project I'm doing now requires a lot of compositing of multiple stills, and pan / zooming the frontmost one. They usually look pretty tracky, but I'm wondering if it would help to put each layer on a different level in Z-space and then moving them around.

Has anyone ever tried this? I'm going to try it out tonight, but I'm wondering if I'm just trying to bend an uncooked noodle.

Jonathan Neal,
You're right, the rotating coin was done in AE with a plugin. I forgot what it was called. In a way, it cheats 3d effects. Someone will be able to name it. My brain's fried at the moment.

The whole football player cutout sequence was in Vegas tho.

1. Patryk - your pictures/animations are amazing.

2. This software looks interesting, but I couldn't finish any project with it (I think this is my ATI card)

3. This one is Mac only (check the samples)
