What are some cool, easy to use 3D software or just software in general that I can use to do effects in my video...besides the basics that Vegas has. I may not be exploring Vegas Movie Studio to it's full potiental because I was using an older version that was SonicFoundry Movie studio..

I am doing a highlight video for my husband's football team and I would like to add some neat effects...for example 3D text bursting into pieces....or some 3D graphics of some sort or a smoke screen...just some ideas floating out in my head right now...maybe a lightening bolt or something like that.
