3D source alpha

I want to rotate and event around the y-axis as well as the x-axis. I can only rotate around the z-axis with VMS11. I did some research and found mention of 3D source alpha. Is this a Vegas Pro only feature?

I guess I could use a 3D transition as a limited workaround.
