I'm trying to get at least the very basics of 3D editing to work in Movie Studio 10, but my first problem is that I haven't bought a 3D camcorder, and don't even have two identical cameras. Their optics are different too. They both shoot MP4 but at slightly different resolutions and framerates.
By cropping, shifting, color adjustments etc I should however get the two video clips to match closely enough - but the problem is, I can't get them to pair into a single stereoscopic clip. If I do the right click "pair as Stereoscopic 3D Subclip" to the two video clips, a new clip appears, and it has the two streams in it, but only one stream displays in the preview (if I view side by side, both frames are from Stream 1).
So, here comes the basic dumb question: For successful pairing, do the two video streams have to be identical in resolution and framerate? As in, should I first render the two adjusted, cropped, etc clips into new identical resolution and framerate clips, and only then try to pair those two in a new Vegas project?
Thanks!
