3DLE Resample?

JJKizak wrote on 11/22/2002, 9:35 AM
I have a string of 175 photos (605 x 605) and I can crop them
easily with 3DLE but usually the sizes come out to 605 x 350 and wonder
if they can be boosted up to 480 high without first going to
Photopaint to resample and crop. What happens after burning to disc
is the width is not enough to cover the black sides while viewing on the
tv. I really am not looking forward to cropping and resampling 175 pics.
If I am missing something here someone please clue me in.

I forgot to mention that the traditional pan/crop works fine.

Did you try ScaleY parameter?

Satish:
Yes but what happens is the picture expands but not past the intial boundaries
and it is still about 600 pix. it seems as though if the width of the picture is
600 or below (using 720 x 480 on timeline settings) it always shows black borders
on the sides after burning to DVD. If I resample and crop the pictures in Photopaint to 655 x 480 there is no problem. 3DLE and the pan/crop do the same thing. When
I said that the pan/crop worked ok I was mistaken. This is not a big deal for me
but I was wondering if there was some way to get around it. The pictures that I
am working with are usually 615 x 605. Your pluggins really work great.

The 3D plugin does NOT appear to expand the image to full screen size just like the Event Pan/Crop does not. Try using Track Motion instead. Satish, is there a way to get the image to expand to full screen size instead of being limited to the initial size?

The problem is that plugins cannot expand the images like Event Pan/crop do. This is the way plugins are supposed to work with VV, this is a limitation. I dont see any workaround for this... sorry.

Try unlocking the images' aspect ratio and then using the 3D plugin. When you unlock the aspect ratio the images will be stretched to fill the entire frame, and you can use 3D LE to scale and crop them... See if that helps.

Nope. Doesn't work. Just makes everything in a tall, skinny, picture really fat. Looks like the plugin is limited to what you can see on the screen. So, it can't be used to do a pan/scan of a photo. Is this correct? If so, fine - track motion works and that really isn't what 3D was designed to do anyway. If not, I'm willing to learn.
