4:3 and 16:9 on the same disc ?

I have done "stillfilms" with old postcards 1920 - 1970 (70 pieces).
Animating with pan and croop and suitable music.
Those films are in 4:3 format (PAL) and 40 minutes long together.
I have authored a disc which functions well.
There is some space left and I want to show the cards i have used
as they are.
16:9 format is better to show as much as possible of
these cards.
Can I add a 16.9 stillpresentation to my 4:3 project?
Will it work?

Certainly. You can mix 4:3 and 16:9 on the same disc, just not within the same video (without converting one into the other).

How are you doing your still presentation, though -- in Vegas or using the picture compilation feature in DVDA? If the latter, add a picture compilation and then go to File -> Optimize. Find the picture compilation there and change its Aspect Ratio from "From Project" to "16:9". (Do not change the Project Video Format... that will alter the defaults for everything in your project.)

If you're making the still presentation in Vegas, then create and render it as a 16:9 video and bring it into DVDA. DVDA should correctly identify it as widescreen, but check the Optimize window to be sure.
