4:3 to 16:9

I have a 4:3 project that is going to be played on a 16:9 Plasma. Rather than have it letterboxed. I am thinking of doin a Warhal thing where I repeat the image across the 16:9 area.

Does anyone know if this will work, what size my 4:3 imnage will need to be to take up the 16:9 area? Do I need to render differently?

to do that you would have to click on the clip in the media pool and manually change it's aspect ratio using clip properties. Additionally, you will have to set it as 16:9 in the pan/crop box to get it to appera right. Juts remember that by doing this the image will be horizantally stretched, so objects will appear shorter.

You can also just crop a 4:3 clip to 16:9 in pan and crop in a 16:9 project, and you will not get horizantal distortion, but you will get less resolution.

In a Final Cut discussion someone said this:

"Create a new sequence and select anamorphic in thesequence settings. Drop in the 4.3 sequence and control click on the video and open into viewer. In the motions tab set scale to 133 and turn down the DISTORT triangle and change Aspect Ratio to 33. Render. "

How would this be done in VV?

If "Warhol" means "repetitive", you'd have to put "3 high by 4 width" of this 4:3 image across the screen, no?
If this is the case, easily done with Pan/Crop...
