5.1 coming out as stereo.

Heres the scoop:
project settings are set for audio 5.1
3 audio tracks-
1st track is stereo going to front l and r ...all other speakers clicked off in the surround panner window.
2nd track is stereo going to rear l and r all others speakers turned off
3rd track is a mono click track set to the center channel. all others speakers are turned off.

So all this looks great in the mixer, the individual tracks are showing up in their respective front, rear and center on the mixer.

So then I render it to an AC-3 file in the "5.1 Surround DVD" template.
So after I burn it with DVDA and play it back, all the tracks play back in stereo. Nothing is going to the center or rear speakers.

The home stereo is of course set up properly because it works with all other movies.
Any ideas?

Did you replace any stereo file left over from your MPEG render with the 5.1 AC3 file?

Spot, I don't know if I'm following you. I used a m2v(no audio) file that was rendered from a MATROX 2500 board with premiere and brought in the supposedly 5.1 file to accompany the video fle.(that I created in Vegas 5.0)
Does that help?

Only if you placed the AC3 file into the properties of that file...You would have needed to drag that to the audio dialog, or had it in the same folder with the same name.
In using the template, did you assign any changes in the Custom dialog?
Have you only tried this on the one system? Or have you tried playback on more than one system?

They were named different, so I had to drag the AC3 over. I didn't touch the template at all.
What do you mean by draging to the audio dialog?
I'm really starting to get lost. lol
