5.1. Front and Rear Channel Mixedup

Iam using a Vegas Platinum with an Audigy Z2s Sound System.

What I record on the Front Channel Plays on the Rear Speakers :(

I set up all Prefs to 5.1 and the Sound Card Box tests my speakers correctly FR FL RR RL FC and SWFR correctly.

Please do help !!
The software works fine and burns a DVD perfectly - Just this one Problem -

what I record on Front tracks play on Front and Rear speakers
and vise versa - ie Rear Tracks play on Front and rear speakers.

Iam not able to seperate the channels :(

Does Vegas movie studio offer surround now? If it does you need to set up you sound in the beginning of the project. click - file- properties-audio-master bus mode-choose 5.1. Then enable low pass filter on LFE. then you need to route the vegas mixer outputs.

Are you talking about playing a 5.1 project in VMS7 ?

If so, it's probably just the mapping of the front/rear/centre/LFE track outputs to the sound card channels. To change this go to 'options -> preferences -> audio' or use the 'Audio device selector' button in the audio mixer window.

Note this doesn't affect the channel mappings for 5.1 AC3 file rendering, just the playing of projects in VMS7.

You might find it helpful to download the full Vegas 7 manual - http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=696 - since it covers things like this in more detail than the VMS7 quick start guide.

I also found that I needed to use the 'asio4all' driver - http://www.asio4all.com/ - with my Audigy Z2S usb sound card.

Selecting this driver as the audio device in VMS7 meant it recognised it as a 6-channel sound card, so I could map the front/rear/centre/LFE correctly.

After assignment on the audio devices tab
I had Audigy 1 3 5 7 - thats cool ...
