5.1 Intro Before Main Menu

Is it possible to have DVDA play a 5.1 surround sound intro clip before the main menu appears ? I have a VOB file that I demuxed to video and an a ac-3 file, which I can strip further to get all 6 mono channels to put in Vegas. But is it possible to just put the ac-3 file and the video file in DVDA so it will play the surround sound clip when you insert the DVD into the player ?

I read the DVDA manual briefly, and it says you can pick a video to play as an intro, however at the same time it says that ac-3 files must be rendered seperate from the video file. Will it allow you to pick the ac-3 file and the video file and put them on a time line sort of ?

Thanks, paul

There is an option called 'introduction' video or something like that in the context menu of your first screen. After demuxing vob file u have ac3 and m2v files, use TmpgEnc to multiplex m2v into regular mpg without audio. Now, you'd be able to insert your sequence into beginning of DVD.
I guess if you want just audio, you'll need to create black video clip.

Although I have not worked with 5.1 sound files, my understanding is yes, you can play any video with any supported sound type before the main menu. And I believe DVDA does fully support 5.1 ac3 sound files.

Go to File menu/Properties, under Introductory media you can set a separate video file and audio file, or if the video contains the audio, just point both the video and the audio links at the same file.
