What attributes does the video have? For example, a few people posting here have tried going for the max bit rate thinking that it will improve quality, when in fact it can have a negative impact on playability.

Media is important, so don't leave info like that out - for example, a lot of players have issues with +R yet will play -R.

Have you checked some of the compatibility web sites for the players to see if they have known issues? If you can get the player make/model it's pretty easy to check and see if it's the player, or if it might be something you're doing.

Check out the DVD player compatibility list over at
http://www.videohelp.com/

I've bought several DVD players in the last couple years for my own use and as gifts and haven't had any problems yet with the recommendations, test details offered at above site.

What Bitrate do you encode your MPEG2 files?

Sorry about that.

Media,
I've used "-" and "+".
I've burned over 100 discs already.
I've done author program like Roxio, did about 15 copies out, and no one had problems,
Now I started to use DVD A2, and now seeing some problems.
Bitrate for the main video is below 5000, menu I've tried 5000, 6000, 7000, and 8000, still no go.

I might try to use a different author'ing program and see.

Well,
I cannot believe this, but I finally got DVD A2 to start burning, and
it works on a "Cyber Home" DVD player, that did not work when I burned with Nero.

I even took the media file from Vegas, used a different author program like Roxio, and that did not work,

Is there some combination that is involved here, oh boy,
I have to investigate further.
