What is the proper way to convert video 50fps to 25 fps.I recently got a GX80 ,and took some video shots in 1980*1080 50 fps AVCHD to play on my TV.But then i realized that my tv cant play 50fps ,so what is the correct way to convert the video to 25fps.Can I just adjust it to 25 fps in the render settings or should I adjust the Project settings as well to 25 fps.

regards

You need only to change the rendersettings.
And I advice you to let the project properties stay at 50p and use rendersettings of 50p for all the modern goals there are and also for the future when you get a new TV.
My TV, bought 3 years ago, can handle 50 p AVC and HEVC.
You should also take a look if there are maybe updates for your TV.

With j-v's advice your 50p to 25p conversion will suffer from a lot of ghosty images while there's motion.

The easiest way to get a playable H.264 encoded 1080p25 video for your TV is: Do the editing, after finishing editing set project properties from 50p to 25p, select ALL used videoevents on the timeline then rightclick/switches/disable resample and final Make Movie/Save to my hard drive/MP4. This render keeps sharpness with a little smoothness of motion lost.

Another approach when your TV cannot handle 1080p50, is to render your export to AVCHD 1080i50 to keep the smoothness of motion with a little loss of sharpness.

Tobber - When you say your TV cannot handle 50p do you mean your TV's internal player that won't accept 50p? I'm surprised. What exactly happens?

Probably dependent of age of TV. My mother's TV (internal player) can handle only 720p50 and 1080p25.

It doesn`t play the file and a message shows up ,telling that there is no support for 50p.
